Cleaning decks that are poolside

Let's talk about cleaning and sealing decks that are near or next too a pool.

In my experience, this is nothing but trouble. Usually, I tell the person to wait until after they are ready to close the pool for the year, or before they open it for the year.

I have heard some people say, "cover the pool with plastic" but I have never tried it. I suppose you could always roll the deck.....that would eliminate any overspray in the pool.

My main concern was the run-off water from cleaning getting in the pool water. Nothing like sending you kids out to swin im Sodium Hydroxide! Or bleach, or whatever.

What are your thoughts/experiences with this?

Dont worry about getting bleach in the pool because the pool should already be full of chlorine. Try to dirvert the water away from the pool as best you can. I always tell the homeowner to put the pool cover on the pool and then clean. Most all are very happy to do so.
