How to bid deck work

Hello could use some help on bidding deck work.
Should I bid it on surface area as I do on my houses? How much time to clean/brighten/seal a 12x14 deck with rails if I use Ready Seal ? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Tim Highfield

Price-wise, I'm in the same ballpark as Dan......however, one thing that you need to consider is what condition the deck is in now.

Is it just dirty? Or does it have a failing finish that will need to be stripped off? Ready Seal is a penetrating sealer, and because of that, the deck needs to be totally free of any previous sealants, etc. If the deck needs to be stripped, you might consider charging more.

I agree with the above posts. On jobs this small I try to get the surrounding neighbors as well. You can knock them all out at once and it makes the job much more profitable. Last year we did 5 neighbors all adjacent to across from one another.... and we did them all in a matter of 2 days (clean & Seal).
