high volume, low pressure sprayers

Would appreciate any recommendations on an
affordable, high volume, low-pressure sprayer
for decks/concrete sealing. Preferably one
that runs off of a battery that we can just
put in the back of my truck. Thanks ahead
of time and for any other advice you can give
on these areas (decks, fences, driveways).
You can email me directly in case manufact-
urers aren't supposed to be mentioned.

They are not HVLP but we use Wagner Pro Golds (airless). I have had one for 3 or 4 years with no problems and just placed another into service this year. We use a 3/4 hp and 7/8 hp model and they cost around $700-$800 per setup by time you buy the tips and hoses (25' of hose is a little short -- I have 75' on each machine). I have seen gas powered and electric but never a battery powered unit.

Thanks Greg,
Yes, we have been looking into airless as
well. We are using Wolman products--i.e.
the Deck Stain (water based) on a deck this
weekend and look forward to using it. We
have pump sprayers to apply it as it is a
fairly small one but am worried about time
and so forth when it comes to the big ones.
We are also wanting to get into sealing
concrete and so figured we better get us a
sprayer. I am trying the Redwood Toner on
my deck but it's been raining here for days
so we're going nuts! I'll look into airless
a little more...I know it uses less product,
but do you have a problem with overspray?
What is the psi and gpm on your unit(s)?
Thanks again! Cameron Johnston

One runs at .44 gpm, and one at .50 gpm maxed out. They both are 0 - 3000 psi fully adjustable. I would say we typically spray at 500 to 1000 lbs depending on the product. You have to use some type of barrier when sealing to block the overspray (cardboard, plywood, whatever) but they don't produce an excessive ammount of overspray if they are adjusted properly and the correct tip is used. Another option would be to go with a diaphram pump setup. Sort of like a pump up sprayer but in 12 volt format and alot higher pressure (deckhand, etc...). I feel I have more control with the airless myself.
