Hi Wizard wanted to ask about using a car alarm /remote starter for PW.
How are you keeping your momentary contacts from the remote in a maintained state as far as the conracts on relays go? are you using 3way solenoid valves? I am looking for 4 maintained contacts off a alarm system got any ideas? Thanks Tim

It is not real easy to explain. If you use one of the internal relays to turn on an auxilary relay it will go on as long as you push the button. the trick is to use a second internal relay to hold the power on until you push a second button. In other words. You need the first internal relay to be normally open until you push a button then it puts power to the aux or external relay. That relay will latch if you use the second internal relay in the normally closed position to supply power to the aux relays normally open side and tie one of the coil terminals to the other side of that contact. When you activate the second internal relay it will release the power from the latched external relay and the load will go off. Now if you got lost here I understand. This is as hard to explain as it is to understand.

Hey John,

You have a heck of an idea. I know they make the remote units but who can afford them. After reading the post on this subject I sent email to several remote control manufacturers trying to find a unit that is inexpensive and easier to use. Already have recieved replys from several. Most operate in the 300 to 500 ft range and have latching relays already built in. Sounds like they should be cheaper than the remote starters plus already configured. The two that look the best have 2 button remotes and have up to ten outputs that can be configured individualy. If anyone is interested I will be writing up all the information soon and will be more than happy to email the info.
Also what brand of valves are you using John?

Wizard I understand your logic .
you are using pb1 to pull in the seal in contact for relay . Then while it is sealed in you use the pb2 nc to open it. Gotcha!!
Now I have to see what is what on the remote
may not have enough internal inputs available. Tim

This is starting to look like an electronics Q&A board. I Love it.

Sorry this is taking so long to compile. We had a little act of God. Lightning hit our home and has destroyed my laptop. I am in the process of gathering all the info again and hope to have it done before the fourth.

Sorry for the inconvience.
