electrical outlets at restaurants

Hello from Portland, Oregon!

We are entering into hood/vent cleaning as a primary
cleaning offering and have just purchased a hot water
heater from ***** . The heater needs a power source
though and will come with a 120v AC plug.

We are wondering if in theory, we would be able to plug
into a electrical outlet at the restaurant to run the
burner. Would this work..?? We believe it would.

***** says we would need 30 amps to run the burner. Do
restaurants have this capability in their kitchens..??

We are looking to possibly avoid having to purchase a
expensive generator to power the burner and to keep our
costs down.

Can anyone with experience possibly supply some advise to us on this idea..??

Thanks much!

Any outlet will work. A normal burner uses about 10 amps of power. I have customers that do that all the time. No problem!

Like the wizard said it should be no more than ten amps. Most 120volt plugs are rated for no more than 20amps. Also you might look into purchasing a GFI to protest yourself and any employee's.

Hope This Helps.
