Chemical Pumps

I'm looking for a new chemical pump. I've been using the shurflo pumps thier ok but I was wondering if anyone has one any better.

I need it to be:
[*]chemical resistant as possible (to chlorine too if possible),
[*]capable of pushing up 200' of hose
[*]rated between 1-3gpm (anywhere in there will work)
[*]Either 110v or 12v (no engine)
[*]On demand type like the shurflo.

The reason i am trying to replace the shurflo is mine don't like to push up 200 ft of hose, maybe shurflo has a better one that I'm not aware of,, (also the chlorine eats em up, I don't use it that much but i might use it more if I had a pump that would take it)

Looking to see if anyone knows of a good one, where to buy it and how much.

Thanks
Cody.

I have found that unless you have at least a 100psi pump its hard to push more than 200 feet. Try a larger size inside diameter hose at least 3/8 inch that also helps. I like flojet pumps better but use shurflo, readily available in my area. I push 300 feet of hose 1.4gpm 100psi with no problem. Get the shurflo with viton seals to resist the chlorine but you still need to wash out pump whenever your done with it. Try ********** they have good prices. Greg Splash&Dash

Hi Cody,

Here is a copy of a post that I made about how we apply our cleaning solutions.

Chemical Application

We use pump ups, and diaphragm pumps when we need to apply very strong, straight or 50-50 solutions.

Most of the time we use a hose end sprayer. We have 2 different heads both have multiple ratios. The first one that we tried has ratios from 1 oz (1-128) per gallon to 12 oz (1-10) per gallon. The head that we use the most currently has a range of 13 oz (1-9) per gallon up to 32 oz (1-3) per gallon. We can also turn the adjustment knob and spray just water. We can spray in a straight stream, foam or wide fan pattern.

We use these heads with a one-half gallon jug attached. We can apply alkaline detergents, acids, and caustics. Sometimes a technician may be on the roof of a kitchen and need 2 different chemicals. All he needs to do is take 2 jugs (one for each detergent/acid). All of our equipment has quick disconnects. Sometimes doing machinery or vehicles, some parts of it need a stronger solution. It takes just a second or so to change the setting.

We use a 1500 psi 2.2 gpm pressure washer to run these heads. But, we can also run them on all of our pressure washers, since we use ball valves (we can throttle back the pressure) rather than trigger guns.

Replacement heads are about $16 and I guess we have about $75 in a complete assembly with fittings. I purchase this equipment direct from Gilmour, they also distribute Spray Doc sprayers and Flexogen hose. We carry 2-3 on each of our trucks. I think the folks at Delco have a hose-end sprayer similar to the one that we use.
