I have a 16hp Kolher on a piece of equipment & I'd like to be able to start it and if possible shut it off by wireless remote,,any ideas??
Range only needs to be about 10ft,

Also this Kolher is one cold starting machine takes some fiddling to get it going even when it's hot,,I have to move the chole around to get it going,,obviously I'll need to fix this before I can slap a remote on it,,

It could be several things thats causing it to do dat.

It could be the diaphragm in the fuel pump.
" " " weak coils.
" " " in the carb.
" " " weak plugs.
" " " the air ports to the airfilter.

I used to have a lawnmower dat did dat and it got to where it took along time to get it started,,liked I said used to have,,meaning there is other things that will cause your problem.

Cody,

Looks like your questions have been answered but thought I would throw in my two cents. Sounds like you need to give the carb a good cleaning and install a new kit. Pay attention to all the really small holes and orfices. Make sure they are spotless. Throw in acouple new plugs and an air filter and it should be like new again.

Cody,
One thing you should check would be the low oil switch.
On the Kohler engine they work off of oil pressure
and not oil level. The engine will not have any fire
till the oil psi is high enough to open the switch.
The best way to trouble shoot this problem is to locate the switch, unplug the wire going to it, and
see if it fires up any quicker.
On the kohler the switch is usally located under the
air cleaner, between the carb. and throtle linkage.

if you have any questions call me
