12 volt vs generator

I have been told that the 12 volt systems that are being used now on the new machines are just as good as having a generator system. True or false?

They work great but,
They have a few problems.
1) The high voltage transformers are very sensitive to voltage. They burn out easy! When your voltage is too low they fry!
2) Alot of the machines have a current problem. When you run the machine for a long time without letting off of the trigger the battery can not keep up with the burner because the charging system is not strong enough to do both functions at the same time. In other words the burner uses more amperage than the motor can supply, running the battery down and burning out the transformer.
3) The manufacture takes shortcuts in the wiring of the 12v burner systems. Most of them can be turned on without the engine even running. This runs the battery down and burns out the transformer.
I would choose a 120vac over a 12vdc any day of the week!
