Bigboy,

Now your talking my language. Grew up on a ranch in east texas. Sold out my interest in 96 to move to the city after 28 years of living in the sticks. Still have about 1700 acres of creek bottom land my brother and i keep just for hunting.

Best damn deer hunting in the tri-county area. Could get at least 2 grand a gun, but we opt to keep it all to ourselves.

Dove hunting was aweful this year, guess because of the drought texas had this year.

We have about 3 days of good duck hunting, which we call "the hunt". We damn the river and as it backs up, here they come!!!! More ducks than you ever saw in your life. Wear out 3 dogs in three days, takes them all year to recooperate.

Never do any squirrel hunting anymore, always wish i had a 22 when i am deer stand though.

Used to love to trap coons, but since the price of hides went down, not worth it anymore. Made my living trapping and spot lighting thru high school. Remember when they were going for 25 to 40 bucks a pelt. Now less than 5-10.

Fishing, what's that. Haven't been fishing in years. Since i sunk the skeeter, called the dealership and told them where they could find it, and if they wanted any more money for it, they better go raise the titanic.

72 Degrees here in Houston Yesterday. 70 Today.

Well guys if I want deer I go out my back door and ask my neighbor if I can shoot his. He has a couple dozen. Just kidding there all pets, I do very little hunting. I probably have done more quail and dove. I went javelin a hunting once. I really enjoyed that a lot. Have not done much hunting since I got married 13 yrs ago. I do a lot of fishing; in Feb. I will go deep sea with a friend of mine for about three days in the keys. I enjoy fly-fishing and bass fishing. I went on a vacation once and obtained 13 fishing licenses from different states. I got back to Arizona and went to a bass tournament. I didn’t have a resident license. I showed the fish and game my other licenses they laugh and told me get an Arizona license. They said that it was a first and believe that I really thought my Arizona license was still good. One guy was 15 years with the dept and I was the first person he ever caught and let off.

.I've hunted my share of the white tail but never did stick one that big.My son is the deer hunter in the family now,he also got a 8 point this year and I think he still has that grin on his face, you should have seen him, grin, grin, grin.

Craig, where is nothing more ejoyable when to watch a good dog work .Under stand the 2grand, they do that around here.I live in the rice belt and after the farmers get they're rice out of the feilds they refood the feilds for the ducks. They make more off ducking huntin than rice if that tells you anything.I still hunt the long tail rat with a 22 and love it,only problem I don't like to eat them but have to clean before I give them to someone.Yes I remember the 25 to 40 on coons heck you couldn't even find one on the hwy. That little group againest trapping did that to the price of the furs.
I can see why fishing is for the birds for you,my son did the samething in Lake Norfork at night.I'm one lucky daddy to have him here now, they were 4 of them in the water with one life jacket, the boat went down fast.
