Although I tend to use the term Power Washing, I think that "Pressure Cleaning" sounds much more professional.

It seems contractors who do more residential call it power washing (myself included) and commercial is pressure cleaning. It's the same thing as far as I am concerned.

Yep,

Layman's took the words right out of my hands, i have never even heard it called Pressure Cleaning, it's always been, in our area, PRESSURE WASHING or POWER WASHING. Cleaning sounds more Janitorial, but then again, its a new term to me.

I think it is a term that we will always be trying to define, depending on who is asking the question.

I consider myself and tell others when they ask what do you do, "I'm a commercial cleaning contractor". Of course that still may not answer there question. I have listed most of the things that we do on the back of my business cards. I will hand them the card and say "This is some of the things that we do!".

We have Powerwash in our name, but many times that really does not explain what we are about! Some projects that we have done we haven't even used water (duct cleaning, overhead cleaning, etc.).

The name of my business is CleanImage Powerwashing. The only difference I can see between power, and pressure is the way it sounds as far as this type of business is concerned. What do ya all think?

Hi Tom,
i am just wondering where you got the name Clean Image. That was the name I was going to have for my company when I first started(5 years ago).I used to work for a company called Green Image landscaping and my boss was my best friend,So when I decided to start my own business,I said my business would be called Clean Image.About 2 years ago on another bb, someone had requested suggestions for a name and my answer was Clean Image.I am just wondering if that was you?
Since then I have run across another company in CA that uses that name.

The origonal name I had was T&T Powerwashing but I thought I needed something more professional, so one day me and my brother where sitting having a couple beers and figured that our type of business was realy all about helping people and business keep a type of image thus clean Image. I feel that people want things cleaned for many reasons but one is the image a good cleaning presents to others. If the customer doesn't look good I don't look good! We keep our equipment clean because of the business we are in and also to give the correct IMMAGE to possible customers.

Thanks Tom @ CleanImage Powerwashing

Tom,

Another plus is, with the CleanImage name, you'll be much higher up in the yellow page listings than if you had gone with the T & T.

Here in the south it it referrd to more often as pressure washing and this is the term we use in our company name. We were also lucky enough to get it as our e-mail address.

We vote for pressure washing.

Let's put an end to which is more professional.

It breaks down to two things as follows:

wash(er,ing) Anyone can wash a house or clean a sidewalk.

Clean)er,ing) A PRO is needed to really CLEAN it.

Now does that make sense or am I going to be strung out to dry?

Powerwash,Pressure Cleaning, Pressurewashing, Power Cleaning etc. Its all the same. It's how you market it that counts. None of it sounds more professional than the other because there's plenty of big Co's with any one of those name variations in it. It basically comes down to personal choice and the way you market it. Of course you must back it up with quality work.
