Hello People,

Been reading back through the posts, and made it to page 5 of 24. Figured now's a good time to ask for everyone's feelings on Powerwashing classifications.

Would like to know how my business stacks up to these classes. Maybe others can benefit too.....please define:

"Lowballer"
"Newbie"
"Weekend Warrior" (good or bad?)
"Part timer"
"Full timer" (self explanitory, but would like input)

There have been comments here and there on this subject, but I didn't see a topic that specifically covers this.

I want to know where I fit in !! Comments please !!

Thanks,
Shawn @ Pressure-Tek LLC

Shawn George:

"Lowballer"
Sells on Price Alone, & has little clue of the money it take to run a business thus often pricing theirself out of business

"Newbie"
Not bad,,justa little Green, Still learning to walk in the business

"Weekend Warrior" (good or bad?)
These usually fall into the lowballer catagorie, they'll often just have a pressure cleaner and a 50ft of hose tossed inthe back of their stationwagon doing jobs here and there for next to nothing.

"Part timer"
Not really a catagory, a parttimer could be any or all of the above.

"Full timer" (self explanitory, but would like input)
This person is in it for the long haul however they may also be a lowballer

Your Welcome

One catagory you missed is:
"Professional" This person goes out of their way to insure quality service, through educating themselves as to the do's and don'ts of the industry. They back up the work with pride and dignity & conduct themsleves in a business like manner catering to their customers needs, and problems with timely and acute resolve. And for this preimum quality, service and professionalism they charge a professional price to enrich a company that will be there in 20 years to provide quality service to their customers again!

Cody

Hopefully you'll catagorize yourself with this one!

Jon,

I already have to kick him off of this thing whenever I need it. I have been trying to get our latest gagit working and then I guess he will be playing with it all the time. A digital camera. Still learning how to get the USB reader to download the pictures. May take a couple of days to figure this one out.

Then look out for Jim once he learns it.

I agree with what Cody said......well done.

So, Shawn.......where DO you fit in?

Its ok to be part time.......and its ok to be a newbie......but, please, don't be a lowballer. Strive to be a professional, be it part or full time. Do everything you can to please your customer and protect your good name. Best of luck to you.

I don't know what I am either, I drive one of the trucks that I wash during the week and then on the weekend, I wash it along with a few more. I try to do a professional job and I get a professional price.I've been thinking about trying it full-time but haven't made up my mind yet, although I do have the prof. equipment with all the reels and water tanks and even mounted on a steel trailer.
I'm not a wannabe, or I'd be a couldbe..I'm not a prof. or I'd be doing it all the time..I'm not a low-baller, cause if I can't get paid, it ain't worth freezing my buns off..I'm just trying to make a little extra money and keep the truck clean because I couldn't find anyone else to do the job like I wanted it done.
