Scratched Glass - YOU DIDN'T DO IT!!!!

Construction Window Cleaners Everywhere,

Have you ever noticed scratches on windows and know you didn't cause them?
Or, you don't know how you could have caused the scratches?

Hello, I'm Dan Fields of Fields Construction Services, Inc. and for those of
you who don't know me, my company does only construction window cleaning in
the San Francisco Bay Area, in California. We employ 45+ window cleaners at
present and complete 4000+ houses per year.

I have been working for over 5 years on getting out the word on what's REALLY
causing most of the scratched glass in the new construction industry. I've
written several articles on this subject and have successfully defended
several window cleaning companies that were accused of scratching glass
during the cleaning process.

The fact of the matter is, there has been a large amount of defective glass
in the construction industry for the past several years and window cleaners
who have been held liable for the replacement costs, that results when they
try to clean this defective glass.

The reason for my e-mail is to inform ANY construction window cleaner that
has had to pay for scratched glass damage or can't figure out why some glass
seems to scratch and others don't. I will be attending a seminar in San
Diego, California in September, that will clear up all your questions on why
some glass scratches and others, for some reason, doesn't.

This seminar will be sponsored by SGCD (Society of Glass & Ceramic
Decorators) and will include several glass experts. Including from PPG Glass,
Billco (Glass Washer Manufactures), Vesuvius (Tempering Roller Manufacture),
IWCA (International Window Cleaning Association) and several builders, window
cleaners and insurance companies. The seminar will be held at the Sheraton
San Diego Hotel & Marina on September 10th - 13th. You may call SGCD @
202-728-4132
for more information or e-mail me direct.

I suggest all construction window cleaners attend the seminar held on Monday,
September 11th at 2:00PM, also at the Sheraton Hotel. This seminar discusses
the defect and how it is created by the tempering process. Also, this
seminar will show how glass temperers can avoid this defect if they choose.

Sincerely,

Dan Fields

Hi Dan,
Being a painting contractor here in West central Fla. I have been accused of "scratching" door glass of new doors we had cleaned after spraying the doors. Would be interested in the "whys" and any preventative measures to eliminate this problem. Any info greatly appreciated.
