Spare Parts list

Reading spraymaster's recent post about chemicals got me thinking about what spare parts/tools should be kept on hand at all times.

I figured we could all pitch in ideas of what we "wouldn't leave home without" and make a list to help the newbies.

Nothing is more frustrating then not having the right tool or part to get a job done, especially when it is something small. I have seen guys go out working with nothing but their powerwasher in the back of their truck! I don't know how they can do it.....I can't afford down-time.

I'm going to begin the "list"......feel free to add to it....

- street map
- o-rings
- silicone lube
- spare quick connects, male and female
- wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, hammer, etc
- spark plug (this one got me once)
- extra gas
- extra section of pressure hose
- eye protection
- gloves
- raincoat/suit
- towels
- MSDS sheets
- tape
- spare x-jet (I'm seriously considering
this one.)
- extra garden hose
- ladder
- rags

anything to add??

Here's a few.
Dremmel Tool- used to knock down burrs on quick disconnect male ends, makes clean cuts on hose when repairing in the field.

In Field Repair Hose ends and splicers- Works great and reuseable.

Extra turbo nozzle

extra shur-flo pump

Mike,
"THE LIST" is a great idea.
For the "Heavy Equipment" part of the list, I would add the following:

Spare unloader(you never know)
Xtra downstream injector.

There is not much support in the field when these items go down.

I have a veritable store of spare parts. I also carry
a spare gun and wand
pressure switch
oil
A full set of tools
grease gun (for a surface cleaner)
ignitor
Cold water back up washer
repair ends for garden hose. (trucks always seem to find them to run over.)

Guys Im new and you might think this is silly but I would bring:
Caution tape
safety cones
hard hat
steel toe shoes

Some places of business require safety items like these to do work for them. Hope this helped!

First thing first, Kevin I thought you fell off the deep end of something, long time you keep quite. Oh and your not so new anymore, been a year or so since baby was born.

Now to the list and this depends on your local laws.

That MSDS should be a first on list since the law requires you carry it.
Copy of business license
Proof of Insurance
First Aid kit, not just a bandaid
Fire extinguister (yes guys I do have one mounted on my trailer right up front)
flashlite, extra batteries and bulb
spare halogen lamp if you work nights
someone mentioned extra clothes, including shoes if you get wet like some of us.
Did someone mention "cash"
spare tire for trailer, you would be surprised how many guys pull trailers and don't have a spare for it.
Don't forget hydraulic jack so you can change it.

Enough since your just going to ask if I have this stuff, YES YES YES.

No I don't have a some of the other stuff, and Scott could most likely build a system out in the field with his stock on hand.

I like the fix a flat and the reeses. All the safety stuff is great too. boy I’m not sure I would want carry all that crap with me. Obviously the small items that you need every night. unloader I’m not changing the unloader in the dark. Leave it at the shop where I have air tools and light. Belts too. I think we all need to carry the msds sheets. I have realized that in the last couple of days. I think all basics are covered and I can’t think of any. Maybe a camera?

Glenn......I took the liberty of adding this item to the list.........seems like a good idea

If you guy's don't already have one, you should invest in one of those GFCI pigtails. They are 1 foot section on cord which connects between an unprotected outlet and an extension cord. I leave one in my van in case I run any lights, powertools, etc., off my equipments generator.
