I appreciate those who gave me advice regarding the hood estimate I was working on. We completed the job in two hours over what we estimated it would take. I think we can shave two hours off the next service.
The duct work had not been cleaned for 10 years so you can imagine the build-up. When I took off the bottom access panel I found up to five inches of grease deposits. It was a difficult and time consuming task, but it is finished.
I felt like a monkey while scraping the ductwork through the access panels.
I guess the next step is to do an inspection of the system in about three months to see when the ductwork will need cleaned again. The owner said it was up to me, but to be ohnest to him and myself I don't think it will need completely cleaned every three months.
