Steam????

I have been washing hoods and exhaust shafts with a steam machine. It has been working extremly well. Then today at a trade show, I had a Hotsy dealer say that it was bad to use steam on these. Any comments?

Have you actually been "steam cleaning" or hot water high pressure washing?
Steam is to low a pressure for getting the job done. Most if not all hood cleaners use 210 degree water at high pressure.

isnt steam is a contaminant

I have been doing 220 at 1800 psi. At that tempature it seams like steam.
