Hi Mr. Goat,

The flimsy aluminium filters of which you speak are/were put out by SC Johnson which I think sold them out to Ecolab. They were/are only available for their use. They contract a restaurant, remove and keep the customers better but dirty filters and install the flimsy ones in place. When they return at the agreed to time, they remove dirty flimsies and add new flimsies, which they take back to the plant and melt down and make new flimsies from the molten aluminium. They may have discontinued their service at least around here.

What size are you looking for?

You'll need at least a 25 different sizes. You can probably find sturdier filters of all sizes for around $10.00 ea. Just buy several thousand of those and start exchanging the filters. You can take the dirty ones home and soak them in the bathtub or the horse trough. Ed in Massachusetts knows where to buy the $10.00 ones. E-mail him and if you're nice he'll send you a book on Cleaning Hoods. Try http://www.smithfilter.com

By the way, cold water electric machines with higher temp seals are used in the multi-story kitchens. You run hot water thru the machines. It's not manufacturer recommended but it works and you can either repair the pumps or trash the machines in favor of new ones.

Good luck and make a fortune.
