Unloader valve help...

I have a Hotsy 550c hot pressure washer.

I'm not getting ANY water over to the coil/tank at this point. I just rebuilt (new seals/rings only) the Hawk pump (2 piston) as it was pretty worn.

At this point I'm suspecting the unloader valve as it's pretty rusty but I would like some help in understanding what is going on overall.

When looking at the front of the pump (manifold side) there are 2 ports on each side right/left with one on top and one on the bottom. On the Lower Left is my water inlet. Lower Right has a hose that goes to the unloader valve block located on the Upper Left port. Finally, the Upper Right port has the pressure switch that is connected to the control panel.

1. Are the hookups on the pump, as described above, correct? It appears I have them setup properly based on the archaic owners manual I have.

2. Why am I not getting any water at all out of the hose that goes from the unloader block to the tank? I have this hose disconnected from the tank just to see and I don't even get a dribble of fluid at this point.

3. Could I completely remove the unloader valve and just run the hose straight off the manifold Upper Left port to see if I get any water flowing through it?

The plumbing from your description sounds proper.
The unloader should bypass water back to the pump
inlet when trigger is closed.

Possibly the unloader itself is faulty, or not plumbed
correctly? (I could probably tell if you post a picture)

You can remove the unloader and run the pump direct
to your gun (Be sure it is tied open, so you dont blow
a hose or fitting by closing gun with no unloader.)

Does the unloader have a model # or make on it?
