Help - Fiber Cement siding

Hi folks, I have a gig that Im looking for advice on.
Home details: Fiber Cement siding about 3-4 years old, with 100% acrylic paint.

What I typically use for a house wash recipe is Bob's Simplecherry mix (6-8oz)with some F-13 (4-6oz) and 1gal of 12.5% all in a 5ger. I think xjet at 1:5 to 1:10. So final concentration of bleach somewhere in the range of 0.5 - 1%.

Question: Do you you all think its OK to go ahead and use this house mix that I've bene using on vinyl and wood shingles for fiber cement siding that has acrylic paint ? I mean it wont fade the paint off, or leave bleaching streaks or bubble up the acrylic paint..... any help would be great.

thanks all
Mark

Hey Mark...I use pretty the same mix that you use to the T on stucco out here in California...I have had NO problems with paint coming off.

I would suggest testing it in a small area first

Sorry to bring up an old post. But what Kind of pressure are you using on the stucco buildings?

Never mind! had a little more time to be able to search and found what I was looking for. Found a pic from 06 that was a job done by Ken Fenner on a stucco building. Wow man what a beautiful job!!

I know this is an old post but I just wanted to add something here, I would never use an X-Jet in this application. Just saying.

Hey Guy....why not on the xjet?

Some of this Fiber Crete does not have that much concrete in it. It's softer and lighter than concrete, thus this is why the fiberglass is used for reinforcement . X-Jets produce a psi range between 1800-2000 psi, this psi range can and will in some cases etch this type of substrate. Use of proper chems. and a variable psi wand to control pressure will help insure a damage free job and help eliminate the "Ohh Crap" factor.

ahhhh...got ya. Would apply to dryvit also I would think. On the xjet I open the nozzle to get the full "Fan" pattern when jetting on chems in situations where we need to be careful about the surface. You bring up a good point about the psi though. Our stucco out here is pretty tough...meaning you can hit it pretty hard....gotta be careful around stucco pillars and window ledges as they are made out of Styrofoam with just a thin layer of stucco on it. **see pics below. This was a residential job we did that already had the Styrofoam exposed. I xjetted our house wash mix on but was very careful around the exposed areas.
