3 story indoor job - help!

I'd done a similar job where the panels were about 5' wide and the perpendicular sections were about 12" deep. I clamped a 6' 2x4 across the top of the ladder like a standoff and set it right on the edges of the perpendicular glass. I'm assuming the glass you're describing is about 1" thick.

    Winter Window Washing

Kotared: I add winshield washer fluid (any brand as long as it says "anti-freeze") after inside work. As for amounts, I keep adding until my solution stops freezing on the wand or window. Total Vision: See above and Glacier Gloves are great but you lose "feel" for the work. Seal Skins are great...

    Winter Window Washing

I've never heard of breakage problems due to cold temps. I've cleaned windows in sub-freezing weather and never had a problem. I could see it being a problem if you use very hot water, so I would avoid that. Instead, use a generous dose of winshield-washer fluid or alcohol in your solution, wear...

    Chlorine

H2Ocean, Did it go bad or was it exposed to the sun for a while? Sunlight can kill sodium hypochlorite.

    french pane window charges

    I charge $0.70 per pane inside and out. That's $8.40 for a 6 over 6.

Can you identify this machine ?

Reminds me of a steam cleaner my father had since about 1960 made by "Super Sioux". No pressure but it melted the grease off the engine of his '54 Kaiser Manhatten when we restored it 15 years ago!

    Tall Building Cleaning

You might try window cleaning suppliers. It's ususally listed as access equipment. The term "jockey" may not be the exact name. You could also use a "rolling look-out" which requires someone to push.

    Tall Building Cleaning

I have done work identical to that. That 6ft high wall is a "parapet". As far as access, they're wonderful for using a wall jockey. The jockey has wheels and straddles the parapet and you use a bosuns chair to repel to the height you want then move side to side as far as long as the parapet is...

    Downstream Injector Issues

I would have guessed the 100ft hose and/or the 24ft wand causing excess back-pressure. Does it work with 50ft hose and your standard wand? Mark, if the hose and wand are the problem, is there any thing you can do to the injector to force it to work with that combination? I've had the same...

    using buckets

Do you use a bucket on a belt? They're a real back/time saver. Unger also makes a pump-up do hickey with a wand attached but it's only a 14" With a bucket on a belt you eliminate alot of bending over.

    Upgrading Equipment

When I have a job where there's a well (i.e. low press/gpm) I use a 55 gal drum that I plumbed with a float valve as a tank. Works fine as long as I let go of the trigger every once in a while!

    larger tips for more flow?

Thanks! Your right, I run a portable unit w/no tank, but I think about that up-grade every time I lift the beast back into my van after a back-breaking day!

    larger tips for more flow?

Mark, I use #30 0 deg tip 90% of the time (housewashing of course). Could this be the cause of failed seals? I've never allowed my pump to freeze and never allow it to run more than 2 or 3 minutes without squeezing the trigger. I've had to replace the seals twice within 200-250 hours. I don't...

    Husky Powerwasher Problem

I bought my first machine at Lowe's (because my supplier didn't finance and I had only been in the window cleaning biz for 3 months) for $999. A Troy-Bilt with a 13 HP Honda and a 3700 psi 4 gpm AR pump. Got about 200 hours of trouble free use out of it until it was stolen out of my van. By that...

    Stubborn vinyl siding

I use oxalic, but what I want to add is that I always tell the homeowner that they should have an HVAC guy check the furnace/AC/humidifier/water-heater pan. Of the approximately 20 time I've seen this problem, twice it's been more serious than the drip pan and the customer was quite grateful for...
