First, this isn't meant to be mean or snippy, but buying products off the shelf in a box store is not generally going to give you any better results than a homeowner can get himself (thus eliminating the need for a professional) Probably 99% of box store products are homeowner grade, idiot friendly, "watered" down versions of what you should be using to perform a higher level of quality.

There are higher concentration based products available to contractors that will blow your socks off in time savings and results difference!

Secondly, why would you leave an oxalic product on the deck. The stuff causes health hazards - people walk on their decks barefooted and animals drink from puddles. You should be rinsing.

Third - just stay away from anything with Behr on the label. It will bite you in the long run. Most of us here have either gone that route or took advise and used a different road.

Listen to Celeste, She knows what she is talking about. Think about what she said. If you were a homeowner and were able to purchase commercial grade products and got hurt, you might sue the company that sold it to you and the manufacturer. This way you most likely would not get hurt and at most, a little burn. The Professional Grade Products are not sold over the counter or at the Box Stores where everyone can get them. Would you want your child or teenager buying the wrong thing and an accident happen? This is why the good stuff is hard to get and only sold to Professionals. Once you get the good stuff and practice (only on your stuff or family or friend's stuff) and get good at it then you can go out and make money using this stuff. Just for your and your customer's safety.

Would anyone care to elaborate on the "how to" side of oxalic acid on decks? IE: dilution ratios, application methods, and necessary precautions (effects on siding, plants etc). Everybody loves to tell people what not to do, but rarely do I read clear explanations on methods.

Billy if you get a chance, call me tomorrow - I've found the pics we corresponded about and I can fill you in on how we neutralize/brighten. Should be in the office most of the day although I actually may be in Raleigh mid afternoon.

I am using the 10%oxalic acid on driveways not deck's. I really don't know the correct procedure, I'm a newbee. If you could enlighten me on how to clean a driveway I would greatly appreciate it

Sorry I missed you. I haven't been on here everyday. By the time I'm home sometimes I'm just done with all this stuff. The pictures aren't really a big deal right now. I'm happy to say I'm done working for the customer in question and will be for quite some time. Better leave it that way. If you wouldn't mind I'd love to pick your brain about a couple wood restoration questions I seem to be having trouble with.

Thanks again.
