This morning when I went to work it was in the high 50's with cloudy skies with a few rain drops now and then.I wittle guy standing on my shoulder was saying your stupid you know, your stupid you know,so's I rolled up my hose went home changed out of my work cloths into my fishing cloths, called a friend and said lets go fishing. It was still nice and warm for the first 30 minutes or so and all at once the wind started blowing, got a little stronger,in a few minutes dat same wittle guy was saying your stupid you know, your stupid you know,by the time we got home it was in the high 30's with 25/35 mph wind.Altho I landed 6 fish and my friend smelled like skunk all the way home he said he doesn't understand why the wittle guy standing on my shoulder was saying to him good spot, good spot Mr smart guy. For the next two weeks our wind chil is in the 30's,with snow, freezen rain for both weeks,,,,COME ON SPRING TIME.I'm having to work tomorrow with the wind chil high 36,I'm going to teach the little guy on my shoulder a classin,I'm going to make him work naked for the next two weeks.

Sorry , 30 mins ago i found out it was 28 degrees, Iguessi got lucky.

Mike , I went to the hardware store and bought a extention cord then went to a gas station and pluged my heaters in and turned them on for 10 sec at a time , without running the motor, (un -hook your wands) anyway they get realy hot and it will force water toward the pump and the ice out the hose , also took the bottom caps off the water filters , after a few mins water started flowing from the tank . I filled the tank as soon as i got there from a fire hose, Iam sure this helped melt the ice in the lines from the tank to the water filters.

Mel,I got tickled when I seen "(un -hook your wands)".

ITS good advice, one does not realize how hot the water can get in 10 sec in a powerwasher with no place to go,other then push it toward the end under psi.Without taking the gun off it builds up alot of psi making it even hotter or steam by the time it thaws enough to push it out.A powerwashing friend and I was sharing a job one winter and he was froze up,he too did what you did,he had the gun off but by the time he realized the hot water was making his hoses real soft it was to late.Without turning the burner on anymore it kept getting hotter,He melted several feet of his hoses, the one from the burner was like watching a bubble show,it even bubbled several feet of his washing hose.It even melted the little white rings in the check valves, your advice is ok but one should not get in no hurry by turning the burner on and off to offen.Depends on how bad your froze up,the harder your froze the longer the wait before firing the burner again.....dualy looks good.

Bigboy, i had a vertical burner that would not fire one day , worked on it for little bit and got it to fire , but i pumped a lot of fuel inside of the burner, it was smoking a little , so i drove 18 mile to wash trucks (still smoking when i got there) started up the washer and before i could shut it off it had blow the h/p hose off and steam was pouring out , it was hotter then H-E DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS. LOL.............

wished i would have had the camer!

THOSE FENCES LOOK LIKE SOME GOOD STEADY WORK. THEY JUST BUILT ABOUT 3 MILES OF 15 FEET HIGH BRICK WALLS OUT AT THE I-85 EXPANSION IN DURHAM TO BLOCK THE ROAD FROM RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOODS. SURE WOULD LIKE TO GET TO WASH THOSE.

BENN HAVING THAT FREEZING PROBLEM MYSELF BUT ONLY IN THE SUPPLY LINE. I KEEP THE H/P SIDE FULL OF BUG JUICE TIL I GET TO THE JOB THEN JUST BLOW IT OUT IN THE DRIVEWAY. TAKES 6 GALLONS EXACLY TO DO EACH MACHINE FROM PUMP TO Q/C ON PRESSURE HOSE. COSTS ME ABOUT 5.50 EACH NIGHT I HAVE TO DO IT, BUT IT KEEPS ME WORKIN.

MEL, WHAT DO YOU USE ON SANDSTONE NEW AND OLD?

I guess a few of us has had that to happen,I too can turn my burner on and off without the motor running. When trying to fine tune a burner after working on it by turning it off and on without the pump running for just a few sec it turns to steam real fast.I have seen what you have seen,WOW and cann't do nothing about it but run, lol.I do NOT trust a employee to run the powerwasher I use,its made for me only, open gun,no unloader,on and off burner with manuel switch. The other powerwasher isn't stripped of all the goodies, its hard for me to run one that way,,besides I know how hot the water can get if letting off the trigger and the burner doesn't kickoff don't you,lol....open gun (un-hook your wands.)

Chuck,

I would use hydrocloric acid on the sandstone , i like the one gallon jugs use your home maid x-jet, (no lance) it dont get as heavy and you can hold the one gallon jug in one hand, gun in the other. covers about 450 sq ft.

these fences iam doing are pre- fab concrete , ive only done one on the highway it was 1,100 by 16 feet high.

the one i did yesterday had some sandstone colums , it took 8hrs with 2 washers at .32 cents per ft. and the one today took 2 hrs at .50 cents per ft plus 6 hrs travle time at $60 per hr. But hay charge what you wont.
