Aluminum brighter is always ran downstream on my equipment. You just have to get your dilutions and dwell times figured out for it to work. These parameters will vary depending on how oxidized/dirty the surface is. Typically I run 20 to 1 with a twin chem process.

Never liked the acid downstream or hi-pressure injection, they always used way too much chemical. I personally like using a pump-up sprayer pre diluted to whatever strenght you need. You will find that it may take more time to apply but by using less it may compensate for the time. You also have excellent control over where the acid is sprayed. Make sure you use GOGGLES & GLOVES.

i hate missing church on sunday and try to do them on sat. i have no employes except for my sons they are young 15 -13- but they are great workers.i like to keep it in the family.so back to my Q. how do you determine
the mix for your ratio.thanks

We use a premixed solution pumped through a Flojet pump with 125'x3/8 hose. On Saturday I and my two step-sons are able to wash 65 garbage trucks with alum. tanks. I have found that if you can find a good chemical and mix it to 10% stronger than the directions indicate you will have a good aggressive solution that will save you time, thus saving you money.

Hi Dan,

I like to run downstream when it comes to soap and brighteners for convenience. As stated you can run it through a shurflo, flojet or pump sprayer as well but it takes more time... then again time is money... so it's your decision. The ideal situation would be to have 2 washers set up and twin chem them with a phosphoric based brightener and a good truck wash detergent. Whichever method you decide to use you need to experiment with your dilution ratios to see what works best for you. I would typically start at a 20:1 (acid) dilution and adjust from there if necessary. Allow a slight dwell time and follow up with the soap... then do your final rinse. ***Keep in mind it typically takes twice as much soap to nuetralize an acid properly.

Best Regards
