Anniverary

Im usually just a reader not a poster. But I just got to toot my horn today. Today Im takin off tomorrow also. Im taking my lady to the S.A. TX riverwalk. Ive (we) never been there. Anyway this is my 26th wedding anniverary ---- to the same women!! She needs a metal. This is the part where I wax philosophic and it gets a little mushy. We got married young 22/19, both still in college working full time and in LOVE. 26 years later, some good some not so good, we are still together PTL. We came close to splitting up a couple of times but stepped back, reevaluated, learned to communicate, fight fair, forgive, get humble and trust each other again. I know we couldnt have made it on our own. We are commited to each other and our family, three grown sons 18, 21, 23 and making Jesus the center of our lives. Now I step down off my soap box. I just want to encourage others, out there in your own relationships. Step back, smell the roses, let him or her know how much they are appreciated and dont ever ever ever take them for granted. This is where those not so good years come from I mentioned earlier. Well blessings to everyone and Im out of here .

Michael,
Congratulations on 26 years of marriage !!

We just had our 10th. It's encouraging to see couples in for the long haul and "going the distance". I think my wife and I will get to 26 too!

I might add that you are building your marriage on a very solid foundation, which will get you through anything life will throw at you.

Have fun with your time off !

That's Great Michael,

We are coming up on our 6th, been together for 11. I don't know what I would do without her. She is very loving and a very hard worker. She also happens to be carrying our 1st little one. We have had a bump or two. But things have been great for years. I think when our miracle arrives it will just make things even better.

I can't forget my two dogs, they are just as wonderful. Thanks for the reminder. It's a good feeling to stop and think of how lucky we are to have each other.

Have a great time, see ya when you get back. :D

Congrads to Michael and Gordon.

Dan Flynn, you say it took TWO bumps before your first little one got started? hmm:D

I honestly think almost all marriages have a few rocky roads to travel over during the life of a marriage.

I have had them and we are going on 35 years this Dec. How time flies for a recycled teenager like me.

Congrats Mike!

Peg and I expect, based on life expectances, to be married for at least 60 years. It will be 40 years for us next May. We were just a couple years out of high school when were married in 1962.

I met her on a blind date! I was 16 she was 15! We went together for 3 years before we got married. I have never dated anyone else!!

Now if I could just get rid of these rabbits

Keep us posted as the day approaches. Are you going to find out the gender before or wait to be surprised. My guess, a little girl.

After the anniversary

Everyone thank you for your replies. Bad news ...... I just got out of the hospital this morning. We woke up friday morning and were having a leasurely breakfast and about half way thru I started to get a real bad back cramp. 30 minutes later we were on our way to the emergency room. I about fainted just getting to the lobby. It turned out I had a kidney stone  . How could something so small cause so much pain. I spent all day in the ER in San Antonio and the released me and said I would probably pass it . The ER doc sent me home with a script for vicadin but nothing for the 90 minute ride home . By the time I got home I was climbing the walls in pain and now nauses and cant keep the meds down. We go to the ER at home and my doc puts me in the hospital. Well 2 days later my kidney is infected I have a fever and they have to go in after it. They ran a scope up me and sucked that little bugger out . It looked like a piece of cinder about 1.5 - 2 mm. The doc said if they were shaped like pearls we wouldnt have any problem passing them. Well I have about a week of R&R till I can get back into the swing of things. [green] Now a word of warning to the men out there . Us guys are more suceptable to this than the ladies are. Drink lots of water, not softdrinks or beer . You can even OD on gatorade. Watch the caffine intake ( OH I love my coffee) that just adds to the problem. About a gallon or more of water a day if your out in the sun. And when you go , at least every 3 hours it should be light yellow or lighter. Everyone take good care out there and be safe .
P.S. All the horror stories you have heard about kidney stones are true.
Best Regards

I can second that about the kidney stone. The doc told me that it was the closest thing to giving birth. I honestly feel that he was right on target.

Come on guys, what is a little pain? I will say having one is bad enough, having 4 or 5 at one time is something else and I don't hold the record here.

There is one member I shall not mention since he wishes to remain quite about it but he has had way over 300 and counting.

Now that is a stone factory for sure.

Which kind did you have? I had two of the three kinds and the fist and second were the worst of the three. I am stubborn so would not go to the hospital till the next day, by then I could not take the pain any longer and they would not pass though.

I have started changing what I eat not only to prevent more but so I can be healthier and live a longer life.

There is a picture posted under New business showing a book picture of the three, it is not gross so if you want to look go back I think to the 15th of last month.

A gallon of Water? I for the first time tracked my liquid intake last saturday. It was a warmish day, about 107 and the humidity was up a little, I think the dew point was around 62. Anyway, between the Water, 2 gallons, Gatorade, 4 gallons and one Sprite that I drank that day it totalled 6 gallons of fluid. I have to admit that it was still not enough for the day. I was a little dehydrated when all was said and done.[wow] You have got to push the fluids. By the way I buy Gatorade in the powder forma nd mix it in a water cooler. 5 gallons cost about $5.00 that way.
