Anyone ever hear of this company?

It is one of the original franchisors. They have been around at least thirty years. The local franchisee is almost out of business. I think that it is like anyhting in this business. It is hard to control quality in a service business when they are too far away from headquarters.

I worked for a Sparkle Wash Franchisee for a brief period about 20 - 25 years ago.

At that time they specialized mainly in fleet washing using the 2 step chemical method.

I have not seen a new franchise in California for years.

Mike,

No this was the local show held in the Pottstown area. It's run the by BIE. A local membership organization.

By the way Don. That local franchise company you spoke of that went out of business. Was that the same Deckare franchise company. They tried to recruit me to their market. Maybe becuase I have a similar name 'Deck Care Plus'.

I heard of one in IL. They too went out of business. They had a few of the accounts from a large chain I had. There pricing was very low.

They did a terrible job. Each year I was getting a few of there accounts. The managers would show me there invoices. They were at half the price we were at.

Goes to show you, fancy truck or not. Lowballers will fail. I think they also did window cleaning

Hey Rick,

Sparkle Wash has been around along time. They build their own equipment and use what we call a bump system.

Everything in the bump system is controled by pressure switches. Pull the trigger and you have chem #1, release and pull again and you have chem #2, release and pull again and your on rinse. Great idea if it was more reliable. Problems are usually with the unloader or air leaks in the system. If either one acts up the lights on the system will look like a Pink Floyd Laser Light Show.

One thing about them, there no Car Wash Guys, as far as I know they shoot ya straight.

Hey Rick, You're right... it was Deckare... I had the WRONG spelling... That franchise was located in Carlisle, PA. They did call us also to purchase the equipment and The Harrisburg/Carlisle Territory.... Yeah! Take Care, Don

If they use the two step system, I know the local franchise did not. If they did it is a good reason not to use the two step. They were terrible. I am sure that it was more operator than chemicals however. They would wash a fleet of 60 trucks and trailers in a little less than two hours. I don't think that even two stepping is that fast.

We have Sparkle Wash franchise in our area and have for a long time. The owner of the local franchise has 6 trucks on the road and does a pretty decent job. He sends hood work our way and we send fleet work his way. Their rates are a tad lower than ours, they are getting 25-26.00 per truck. Not a bad rate. From what we've read on these BBS that's more than most. I guess what ever the market will bear.
