Are TV Beds Worth It for Everyday Use?

Hello everyone.

I'm thinking about getting a TV bed and wanted to hear real experiences from people who actually use them daily. On paper, they seem like a great idea combining comfort and entertainment, but I'm unsure about practicality and long-term durability.

How reliable are the lifting mechanisms, and do they stay quiet over time? Also, does the built-in TV feel too small or awkward compared to a wall-mounted screen? I'm also curious about cable management, maintenance, and whether these beds are worth the extra cost compared to a normal bed setup.

Any advice, pros, cons, or recommendations would be appreciated please.

The lifting mechanism is the biggest long term concern. Quality varies enormously by brand, better brands stay quiet and reliable for years while budget versions develop faults quickly and parts can be hard to source. Always check that the warranty specifically covers the mechanism and not just the frame.

TV Beds have become increasingly popular and the range of options available now means there is something to suit most room sizes and budgets. Screen size is usually 43 to 55 inches which suits bedroom viewing well and the viewing angle is actually better than most wall mounted setups as it sits at the perfect height for watching lying down rather than being mounted too high.

Cable management is generally handled internally which is one of the genuine advantages, usually just a single cable run to the wall keeping everything clean.

Worth the extra cost if you genuinely watch a lot of television in bed and have a large enough room to handle the bulky footboard. If you only occasionally watch before sleep a quality wall mount with a separate frame is more practical long term.

Go with an established brand, check the mechanism warranty specifically and avoid anything suspiciously cheap.
