Greetings to you power washing professionals. I'd like to
thank Mark for inviting me to do this. I am truly honored.

A little about me; I have helped sell millions of dollars in
services- carpet cleaning, window cleaning, house cleaning
and yes, pressure washing.

I hope that my insights on this forum may spark an idea
of your own so you too can have a breakthrough.

First off, what type of marketing are you using now
that brings in the most customers?

Even if it is not working very well

Hey Paul I seen you on Linkedin. You look like you have a pretty good following. I know your a web guy which i think connected with you awhile back.. Without counting our customer base and referrals we get because of our 17 yrs in business, our Website has generated the most amount of work for new clients.

Thanks for the replies. It seems a lot of businesses are passive these days
so they tend to like the internet and referrals.

Those are good ways to get business, but limiting as there are only
so many people searching, then there's the competition aspect.

Referrals are great!... unless we are passive and wait for them to
come randomly.

Most direct response advertising (postcards, fliers, letters, yard signs)
fail because the ad itself is bad, or the wrong type of people get them.

Making a few simple adjustments to your ads can make a world of
difference in the outcome.

The average business has a 20% attrition rate, this means you lose an
average of 20 customers out of every hundred, per year. If you are
depending exclusively on the internet and random referrals, that is a
hard battle.

I prefer more control in my business's outcome.

This is why smart advertising and referral 'pushing' is vital for growth.

We once mailed 500,000 postcards in one year... that sped things
along to amass 20,000 customers and $3 million in sales.

That will not happen with local Google searches, or passive referrals.

In the coming days I will share my tips, tricks and strategies
used in successful businesses. Hopefully there will be a few to
help give those here an advantage.

So post cards, door hangers, & fliers an effective way to advertise as long as you have good information on them? What key things would you want to include?

Hello Paul,
I thought you disappeared from the planet, have not heard from you in a while, sent emails to you but no response when I was talking to you to work on a project with me for fleet washing.

Is your email address changed? PM or email or post your current email if you can help me with this and other projects.

Thanks.

Flyers are and have been for several years my biggest advertising source for new clients. I get hardly anything from the internet, I would pay if I could get as many leads on the internet as I do with flyers. The ones I do get on the internet are usually from my flyers lol.

Actually these are non relative lead generators. One is passive and one is not. You need to utilize
as many avenues as you can to bring in maximum leads. If you just focus on fliers you will limit
the amount of leads because not everyone reads fliers. I love fliers but they are only part of
the marketing mix we need for real success.

You will only get leads from the internet if you are at the top of page one. This page explains
a little better how it can be done- SEO Supercharger

Paul, what if my website is ranking good with google but not a lot of calls or requests for estimates?

Not sure if it is just my market (277,000 people) but wondering if my website could be getting me more work or if it is doing the best it can with the city this size.

What do you think Paul? Pressure Washing Services House Cleaning Texas Power Wash Contractor

You're #1 in Corpus Christi, so that is not a problem. I don't feel any service business can count on
the internet for most of their business. That would require huge amounts of local searches as
well as beating out your competitors for their business (#1 does not give you the job)

I would focus more on direct advertising and less on passive
