BlackBerry Torch

Thinking about upgrading this month or next to a BlackBerry Torch. These days buying a "cell" is almost like shopping for a car. As more and more options are made available from the different makers of cell phone devices today it has become increasingly clear that a good wireless application is the way to go.

Anybody have any thoughts on the BlackBerry Torch. I want to have the option of doing everything mobile...while I am on the go.

Ant...this is right up your alley. Any comments bro?

Carlos, I have both a blackberry and an android device. For communication purposes, (phone calls, texts, emails) in my opinion nothing beats a Blackberry. Just so easy to work with. The only reason I have an adroid is for posting pics to Facebook (which you can also do w/a BB) and uploading short video's while in the field to You Tube. ANdroid also has an app for TWEETDECK which alloows you to keep up with Twitter and Facebook at the same time, as well as some others. ANdroid battery last's barely a half day for me though. Blackberry all day and then some. Hope this helps.

I replaced my Blackberry Curve with an iPhone 4 about 2 months ago.

I love it!

Apple - iPhone 4 - Design of the display, A4 processor, and more

Apple - iPhone 4 - Video calls, multitasking, HD video, and more

Watch the iphone 4 video.....

I had a TV repairman fix our 2 year old TV over the weekend,
the technician had an Iphone application where he charged my
Visa card all through the iphone, I signed the screen with my finger..........

I am told there is over 250,000 applications available for the iPhone.

I looked at the Torch it is cool also, but I liked the iPhone 4 better..

I like all of them, and to be honest, you pretty much can't go wrong with either. I loved my Blackberry, but it compared to my Samsung Epic with Android - ain't no comparison! iPhone is sweet, but just about every app will cost you. I have more than 50 apps on my phone already and haven't bought one yet.

I think the Torch is cool.. but compared to my Epic, it's light years behind as far as technology goes. I miss the simplicity of my Blackberry, but that is ALL it had/has over my Android phone.

Like I said though, any of those phones you mentioned will do the job and do it well. Any of them will allow you do to pretty much anything you want. Some just may nickle and dime you a little more than the others.

If you do get an iPhone or an Android phone, make sure it has the front facing camera too so we can video chat. Sprint's Evo is freakin awesome like my Epic. My Epic has the slide out keyboard where most of the other phones don't. Android also has "swype" for texting... so easy, so fun.

I am getting ready to go out on a morning job but I wanted to hit this quick before I left for some suggestions.

I like the IPhone over the BlackBerry Torch at least from a function standpoint.

What I am looking for is something that can offer me the complete package i.a. run credit cards on site, create/product contracts for the customer onsite, schedule, FB, Twitter, Blog...the whole enchilada

The screen to the IPhone is much bigger than the BB...

Anyway...gotta run.

Never owned a Blackberry, but know many who swear by them. The IPhone was cutting edge, but now the Android phones are incredible.

Depending on what region you are in, AT&T service can be very disappointing. I (we) have been withe Alltel (now Verizon) for the past 8 years and have never been more satisfied with a providers customer service and great reception. The CMDA network is far superior to the GSM network here in the States.

I own the Droid X, and I bought my sales guys one each, my leadman has a standard, ruggedized phone which he has already dropped in a puddle of water and didn't phase it.

$69.98, unlimited minutes, text, pictures, etc. Another $25.00 a month get's you unlimited web, email, etc.

Verizon will have the IPhone in a few months (rumor has it) and already has 2 different versions of the I Pad.

But as technology continues to leap daily, you can buy the nicest, baddest phone today and it will be technologically outdated withing a year.

I'm waiting for a cage fight between Chad and the Verizon nerd spokesperson. That would be worth watching !!!

There are countless app's available for the iPhone,
and I am sure the other smart phones also.

Most applications for the iPhone are either free
or inexpensive from what I have seen typically
$0.99 to $2.99 however I have also seen one
app for $1000.

An article I just read states that

Windows Phone Apps More Expensive Than iPhone Apps
Read more:
CHART OF THE DAY: Windows Phone Apps More Expensive Than iPhone Apps (MSFT, AAPL)

I just downloaded PDF Reader Pro for my iPhone 99 cents, there are similar free
versions, but I believe this app is easily worth a buck to me.:)

Yes technology becomes outdated quickly.
