brick cleaning

need info on how to clean brick on new construction, it has mortar tags(excess mortar).i have tried the search feature but didn't come up with much.the brick mortar is red in color not for sure what kind of brick.from what i found on the search some use the turbo nozzle,does this do damage to the brick?what chemicals should i use if any?really need help on this one.thanks

Do not use a spinner or 0 degree on new brick ever!
A light acid bath is usually whats done, then removed with a good fan tip.

We have used spinner nozzle with no Problems, BUT WE DON"T get right down on the brick either. and dont use on the corners of Brick and older brick.
Be careful of colored Brick You can take the color right out Pressurewashing and it will stand-out, Especaily pink colored brick. ck -out the other links above.this is just our Experience.

I will stand firm on the no spinner / 0 degree tip on new brick. (Jim & Shirley

Especially when someone asked how to clean somthing (which tells me they don't have experience in this particular area)
Always a safer bet to not to use too much when your starting somthing new. A mistake on a new masonry surface can cost you big time.

The colored brick your taking about is usually a slurry coat applied to the brick from the manufacturer. This coat is only millimeters thick and can be removed quite easily with only water.

Also make sure the brick is at least one week old before cleaning because the grout can be blown out.
and repointing masonary is also costly.

but the same here we would never use a O DEGREE Tip on any brick New or Old.
