I've heard far far more bad things about it than good .... actually I haven't heard any success stories with it. Water based acrylic is going to get you in trouble everytime!

I haven't seen any SPF failing 'yet', but I have some samples out back and looks like crap on pt pine. Films on top, shows brush strokes, unnatural. Have seen a few decks and some t&g ceiling with it. Colors look muddy and synthetic to me.

Good luck with maintenance.

Used it once (at the beggining of this year) [puke] . Never again is right. Sometimes you have to learn the hard way. Pretty difficult to get WTW up here. I hear you guys/gals talking WTW enough that I may just have to bite the bullet and pay the shipping and broker fees to try it.

more spf failing

Thanks for the heads up Ken. If they do, I may pester you with the odd phone call or two.

I'm currantly quoting a high end town house complex (35 units) for next year, (dryvit and concrete cleaning, interlock clean and resand, as well as cedar deck cleaning, sanding and possable staining. Although they are not supposed to, one of the owners stained theirs without approval with what appears to be the SPF. Looks like crap. Someone already tried to strip some of it and made it worse. Just means I get to charge more when I show them what a pro can do.

The only successful strips I have seen of the SPF involved a ton of sanding. Be careful. If and when you need to call just give me a heads up. I only accept/return calls on a weekend. You can call anytime. I'll fill you in on the Canadian distribution as well.

Got a free gallon of the SPF from the local distributor so I through it on a fence panel out back. Overall the look is okay if you like that heavy film look. Like Ken I see the biggest problems yet to come. I tried stripping it off the fence section 2 weeks back and it's not for the beginner :)

Lots of pressure and a hot batch of stripper. All said and done about 20% of the product still remained. I couldn't imagine trying to maintain this stuff.

Try Ready Seal...... works for us.

I'm using olympic 3 yr stain and cwf uv-5 stains this year. It meets my customers expectations so far. As far as longevity only time will tell . The finish is great on both products and the costs is about the same. Soap and water cleanup fits my previous business plan and price model. I can wash and stain in one day and keep my services affordable. I have NOT tried cabbots uv stain though!!!
