Hi Tim,

We use a percarbonate based cleaner followed by granular oxalic for the brightner. It provides excellent results on all species of wood.

Email me if you need more info on the cleaners

Greg,
Where do you get your granular oxalic? What quantity is it available in?

Thanks.....

At some point Greg posted the formula.I believe that it is in the thread "Wolman warning".

Do a search for non-ionic surfactant or percarbonate and you should come up with it.

Do it in the just wood forum.

Most of the larger chemical companies should have the products I listed. If not they should be able to order them anyway...

The recipe works excellent although it got to be a pain mixing it all the time in house. I now have it mixed through the supplier but unfortunately that requires much larger quantities.

i use this and mix it myself, spend an hour one day and fill up 50-100 plastic ziploc bags, put in enough for 5 gallons of water. Easy to store, and you'll have it ready and wont have to constantly explain the mixture to employees.

You use a 10% Slolution of Oxalic for brighten.

How do you mix it? Do you just spray and leave?

Whats the cure time for the Precarbonate cleaning solution?

Bare with me, Just trying to learn. New in the field and I am amazed at all there is to learn. You guys know your stuff.

i use new again roof and deck cleaner, followed by new again tannin brightner. these products work very well i down stream them using a suds sucker injector from xxxxxxxxxx.call1-866-639-2444, tell them suds mckenzie sent you. we suck it from a 5gal pail with very few jobs requiring a pump sprayer. other contractors use and love it too.

What colors does the Tanning Brightner come in?

If I choose to use a sprayer - Can I spray and go or do you have to wash?

What do you use to seal?

Thanks a Million!

If anyone decides to try downstreaming sodium hydroxide, just be really careful........you dont want to get it on yourself, vegetation, or any brass kickplates on doors (learned that one the hard way).

I apply all of my deck cleaners and brightners using a deckhand sprayer. In my opinion, it offers more control, and less hours on my p/w.
