My wife Kathy and I have come up with this idea on how we can entice a non UAMCC member to see how they can possibly benefit from being a UAMCC member by them writing a paragraph or two on how there business can benefit from being a member and then we pick the best one. The winner will recieve 3 nights at the hotel during the Convention for free on our dime.

There are plenty of opportunities for Current UAMCC members to benefit from there membership and also win some valuable prizes such as a $11,000 Hydrotek Skid at the Convention.

Many times non members say whats in it for them with an org. There really isn't much an org. can give back to them unless they become a member.

The winner of this short essay does not have to become a member or even go to the Convention. Of course we would like you to become fellow members and to also go to the Convention so you can learn a ton and also stand to win some prizes. Kathy and I really want you to see what its like being involved with an org and this is why we decided to do this. Either way its our way to give back to some member in this industry to at the very least get to stay at this Hotel under our Room Block prices which are $119 a night on us. The nights will be Thurs. October 22, Fri. Oct 23 and Sat. Oct 24.

So give it a go. At the very least you can spend 3 nights free at the hotel. All we ask if the winner decides they do not want to go then let us know so we can pass this benny to someone who will go. I would hate to book this room for 3 nights and no one shows. Also the winner will have to let me know what size bed they want.

hmmmmmmmmm.. If we are not a member , There is probably a good reason for that . And money to join has never been that reason. So why would we write a paragraph or two on how there business can benefit ? If we "non members" already know That we dont need a Org. to be successful Then why LIE to tell you that it would ?

Feed the homeless ! or stay home and send your money that you are going to waste going to some drunkard meeting full of BS . and give it to your neighbor that is down and out .... Your neighbor that has lost his/her job . Or give it to a college student that lives off baked beans and toast !
Stop wasting money on mind-less stupid Orgs and and help some-one .. But you say that you do !! NICE !!! do MORE !!

Besides JOHN never take for granted that everybody knows what UAMCC stands for ... I dont know what it stands for , If you are going to solicit money spell out the name of the ORG . for all we know it means U ARE MAD CASH CRIMINAL !

Hey Dan S.---Some things never change. I wonder if BigBoy is going to repsond to this thread. I guess we will forever see this differently. I think one of the longest post here was started by you and me about orgs back in the day. Today I still support them as you can tell.

So how r u these days?? R U still Powerwashing??? That was pretty funny what you said UAMCC stands for. Your sense of humor hasn't changed.

Hey Dan who can beg better then me. If I beg hard enough would you go to the Convention?? Wait I don't even think a King Beggar could get you to go, This is your views and my views to each other and what are reactions are to the other guys response[p2] lol.
Seriously I have this post up on about 6 other bb. and I have probaby around 10 responses to it. The two guys that you may know who responded are Ron Musgraves(Known as Ron Marshall back here in the day) and Scott Karvonin. All the replies are good ones...And If I had extra money I would do like you say to do which is to donate to the homeless. WE do that also along with some other charitable foundations usually around x-mas time. Believe me even though it may not seem like it Money is always tight for me because when I have it I spend it...as you can see and when I don't I live frugally, and its only money anyway's.

I have this gut feeling Bigboy Larry is going to respond here somewhere someday. I'm Glad to see that Mark here has joined the UAMCC. This looks like a real good org. to be associated with if you support orgs.

Im sure it can benefit some folks . I personally dont see it , And for the record I dont knock people who join ... That is their personal choice ! I have ran a successfull Biz now going on 16years and did it without any help ... but those who need it need it I reakon !! Every area is different every competitor is different ...... And the reason why I dont live in a city .... Country life @ it's finest ..... where `ya dont havetta belong to any group to be sucessfull !

If I had the time John I would come . But not to sit in a meeting I'd wait till you were done and you will find me downstairs in the bar........ >> cheers mate !! then we could just chat about life and wisdom !! LOL

That sounds like fun. If I ever see you at a Hotel I'll take you up on that offer. Life is going by to fast since I am closing in on 50. I would love to chat about live over a few drinks in a dimly lit bar..that is more my speed now.[r2]

I have picked two possible winners. Of course I can only afford to pay for the one winner to get a 3 night stay on my dime so I am going to contact these two individuals to see if they are the winner will they at least stay at the hotel so my getting them the rooms doesnt go to waste.



I had about 10 reply's maybe even more and they were all good ones but two of them stood out above the rest. It was tough to narrow it down to these two guys and its going to be tougher to pick the one.

We just informed the two finalist how great there post were and that Kathy and I read them each aprox 6 times each. It was a tough decision to say the least. In the end we thought the winners post was just a little more informative. We thanked them both and we also feel that there post may have inspired some others to become future UAMCC members and for that were grateful because we believe the strength in this org will be in membership numbers and the more strength the UAMCC has the more benefits its members will recieve. So once again thanks to all that responded to this thread here and on the other bb's.

Here's mine.

It is my belief that becoming a UAMCC member would help take our business to the next level, starting with the great educational opportunities the organization has brought to the convention. I couldn’t go anywhere else and receive such valuable information concerning the things we are trying to accomplish with our pressure washing business. There is no easy button for organizing a successful pressure washing business, but being able to network with other members who have already “been there and done thatâ€￾ would be great. It would help me gain the confidence to go out and bid on bigger and more complicated projects, knowing that help is only a phone call away.

We attended our first round table about a year ago. Since then, our business has more than doubled after we implemented just one piece of information we received from that weekend. I feel belonging to the UAMCC would provide the same benefits, just multiplied. Joining UAMCC, as I see it, will only be the tip of the iceberg. I look forward to gaining much needed information to grow our business by talking with other members who are there to give advice, when needed. UAMCC, to me, seems to be an organization that would keep us informed on new and relevant issues, and even present us with possible job leads that we might never have been aware of.

Also, having a list of industry suppliers that support us would be great. You can find about any piece of equipment on the internet, including pressure washers, but being able to call a vendor who you know supports the same goals and interests as the UAMCC and you is “priceless.â€￾

Lastly, I would say having someplace or someone to look to for CWA compliance is very important. I know there are many opinions floating around, and I would find “comfortâ€￾ in knowing I can turn to members of UAMCC, who would be looking out for me when I have questions.
