I do not understand all there is about cookies being stored on my pc.

Spam T's me off,to see as to why I get alot off spam I decide to set my pc on prompt for cookies.

With nothing better to do I've been running the net,seen alot of interesting cookies being stored on my pc.Some web sites look different but have the same cookie(s) being stored on my pc.I seen pwi was useing a pwna cookie to store on my pc,its interesting seeing all the different cookies being stored on my pc.

I guess my Q'tion is= is cookies where the spam people get my e-mail address?

I'm not an expert, but most cookies are used for good things. They remember you and your preference when you return to the website / server you got it from.

I don't think they can collect email addresses. A lot of your spam comes from instant messengers and when you fill out a form on the internet and someone sells your address.

You can download adware, spybot and spy sweeper from the net to help you get rid of most if not all pop ups.

There are program that spider the internet looking for addresses too. They also can extract addresses with ease from mail servers. This usually happens when you have a address from a big name. like msn or aol.

A lot of the pop ups you get come from your ip address. You also may have spyware on your computer that sends your preference to the pop-up ad server and then they send you pop-ups they think you will be interested in based on your surfing habits.

Got reed of all the adware,spyware on my pc over a month ago,I do not use the messenagers any more.Have a friend tho that comes by and uses the messenagers,said they were uses their own mailboxes.Guess I'll haveta chew on them to make sure they are .
