green

If it's green or near green, then you are probably 95% correct in that it is CCA. I doubt that these decks are of ACQ treated wood. If you are going to do this wood take the precaution of "suiting" up. Goggles and a rain suit. If you are going to sand it please use a dust inhibiting mask. Being safe protects you.

A suggestion to sealing is be EPA compliant and use an oil based sealer. If you want a great look on the treated wood use light brown if you like light color wood or a natural cedar color for a rich looking color. If you haven't used readyseal give it a try. It really looks nice on treated wood.

HI JIM, ARE YOU USING HEAT AND HOW HOT, KEY WILL BE HEAT TO OPEN UP THE WOOD AND THEN LIGHT PRESSURE TO GET THE SURFACE COLOR (GREEN) OUT, HOPEFULLY. LOW PRESSURE WILL NOT FUR THE WOOD. I DID A DECK ONCE WITH 98% OF IT BEING NORMAL GRAYING AND FADING AND HAD 2 STUBBORN BOARDS RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE THAT APPEARED TO BE VERY HARD SURFACED AND YEP! YOU GUESSED IT GREEN AS A LEAF. TURNED UP HOT WATER AND TOOK MY TIME IT BLENDED IN NICELY.
