Facebook Security

THIS IS REAL. A friend of friends acct recently was hacked. Do the following. While on Facebook, look at your URL address; if you see http: instead of https: then you don't have a secure session and you can be hacked. Go to Account|Account Settings|Account Security and click Change, then click the first box. Make sure you save changes.

I did this on my page and it worked. Very easy to do.

Thanks Doug. I read an interesting article on PCWorld.com today, will post after this response. Stragley enough, the article on PCWorld.com does not mention the security "flaw" you have pointed out.

If/when you do change your URL settings, make certain you update all of the links you have created (such as FaceBook buttons and links on your website(s), blogs and other SEO related tools). The preceeding statement is an assumption, since I have not yet actually followed the suggested steps, I am not confirming this will happen, but seems to me to be a real possibility.

No worries Doug. There is a wealth of advice on the Internet (and especially FB) but in this day and age it all needs to be verified.
