Google is your customer!

Not really but the concept is the same.

When you are selling your service you need to convince the customer that you are the best and the best value.

Google is the same way. They don't know that you are the best unless you tell them that. Google is like a 2 year old with ADD, you have to keep telling them you are the best repeatedly.

What Google needs is a vote for your web site. A vote is a link that makes it back to your web site. No matter how deep is goes. I have links that go to an article that then link to a blog post and from there to a microblog to another blog post and finally to my site. The power it picks up with each link is incredible. Now do this several hundred or thousands of times and you will have a winner. Other times it is a social bookmark going to a blog that then links to the site.

The key is to take only pictures and leave no footprints. Mix it up and use all different types of link types i.e. social bookmarks, blog posts, blog comments, forum comments etc.

The reason that you need to keep telling Google that you are the best at X is that (it gets better) they are like a 2 year old with ADD and Alzheimers

The old saying "the squeaky wheel gets the grease" really applies to Google.

So in essence Google is your customer, you have to convince them that you are the best and have the best value.

My phone links to your phone, does that work? Only thing I understood was the 2 year old ADD part.

No it means that you constantly have to remind them. If you stop they will soon forget about you and others will move up.
