Gutter Cleaning ( Exterior )

I have talked before about this chemical I use to clean exterior gutters. It is so good you can, for real; unlike some say. Spray this on and rinse this of 9 out of 10 times. Once in a while you may have to brush.

Anyway I lost the supplier that sold this to me a few years ago. I did a job today and thought I would share the results. I want you to look at this picture closely. You will see the little white spots on the dirty side. That is from contact alone. Some time with this chemical, if you spray it on. Then go back over it, spraying again. The very low chemical spray start washing the stains away by itself.

This gutter has a little mold on it, that covers the usual black streaks. But I can assure you they are there. This new area I am in (Houston) has a ton of mold that covers every other stain.

I have a little left and I am going to get it analyzed and hopefully manufactured if I get enough interest. So if you have any questions or interests, post them here. I will try to answer them.

This is by far the perfect solution for this problem. I have been doing this regularly here in Houston and hear time in and time out. The last guy said I had to paint the gutters. That the stains can't be removed. I say oh ya. I can make them look new. I point out the expense of this special cleaning product, explaining the high cost this type of job can be. This prepares them for your quote, along with the fact nobody else can do it. I flip out a picture and they can't believe it.

There is Zap, but I have tried it and most of the time you have to brush. It does work pretty good though. But so does a few local products, with brushing.

I always point out extra work on every estimate. I certainly point out the gutters. It sells every time. I get 1 to 2 dollars per foot. Because of the none brushing. This part of the job is very quick. I did 108 feet today, second story in 15 minutes. That included several pictures I took.

Thanks

Dan,
I use 50/50 simple green it works 75% of the time. The rest I use strip x L in a pump sprayer ,with an immediate rinse.About 1% of the time do I have to brush.

I've used about everything you can thing of and I can't ever get the steaks out. Dan, whenever you get this stuff on the market let me know. I want some. Until then, where do I get the strip x?
Doesn't Glenn have some gutter chemicals that work without the scrubbing. I could only dream of something like that.
Dan if that stuff works as well as you say it does, there's not much telling what else it may clean also.
Have you tryed it on anything else?
Thanks

Greg,
I used some around a window 50/50 and freaked when the paint started peeling. Haven't tried it on a gutter though.

Dan,
Great work, keep us informed. I have tried several things but nothing as good as what you're talking about. I would definately buy some.

Dan,
Have you tried a foamer? If you foam a good cleaner
on to the gutters it will "cling" to the surface allowing
"dwell time".

We used to use a foamer years ago when cleaning mobile
homes, especially on the underside of awnings, we found
that when the cleaner was foamed on to the surface it had
a little more time to work, and made our job a little easier!

We will be adding foamers to our on-line store
pressurewasherzone.com soon.

P.S. I will post a picture of a foamer this weekend!

Hi Dan, just wondering if this stuff might streak siding if it drips down on it? We sometimes "dip brush" really bad gutters but you have to be careful to not let it get on siding or you get a really clean area on the siding or it can streak it. I would be interested in trying your chemical out. Thanks, Gordon

I always mention doing gutters. Aluminum gutters clean the easiest. If the gutter has been painted after installtion, the 'gunk' seems much harder to remove. I also use the 'dip & brush' technique, followed by a quick rinse ( my wife is usually the quick rinser ) We have been using a sodium hydroxide cleaner called Brown Derby. Some other degreasers I have tried work pretty good but foam too much when rinsed. Takes too much time to rinse when you have all that foam to remove also. At times seemed like we couldn't rinse it all off. Whatever we use , we always rinse...rinse...rinse...and that's before the final rinse. lol

As you know Dan, we use the "Zap" and we have to wash the gutter first, spray them then add the chem with a brush then rinse again. Does get the black streaks off but there is alot of work involved to get the results. I told you before if you get this stuff on the market then we will be buying it from you!!!
