I was wondring???
When washing a 2 story colonial an a side where there is no way to clean from the roof how do you reach the high spots. I know ther is the obvious way of using a ladder but that does not seem to efficient when using 2800 psi it seems like it would be a pain in the butt. Do any of you guys use an extendable wand because i have the opportunity to get one that extends to 24' for $75.

Be careful when purchasing an extendable wand. Most are very heavy especially when extended. There are also issues with product quality, ease of use or the opposite etc. I would use a good house wash mix and rinse with a low pressure 0 or 15 tip from the ground. Or you could add extensions to your lance. Also, if your house wash chemicals are doing there job you should'nt need 2800 psi. If you are not experienced with using different nozzle sizes to lower your pressure or don't know how to correctly use the above mentioned degree tips you would probably be better off with extensions off your lance even if you had to stand on the lower rungs of a step ladder. I downstream most of my housewashes but you could research the x-jet as there is alot to be said in prior posts. Hope this helps, Daniel

I use an xjet to reach the high spots. Some guys prefer to downstream. Search for info on xjet and downstreaming and you should find all you want to know.

So what your saying is that if you have the correct mixture of detergent/cleaner the pressure isnt that important on the high spots of the house as long as i get the solution up there and then rinse it??

Exactly. Sometimes even an effective soap solution won't work on heavy mildew, soil etc. that is where an x-jet would come in handy as it has a higher draw rate than a downstream system. Good luck.

There are times when the X-Jet nor downstreaming will be effective enough (dryvit, stucco) Invest in the extension wand. Like mentioned above, they are heavy, cumbersome and a P.I.T.A but they are safer than climbing up a 30 foot ladder dragging a h.p hose and trying to blast away. There is a wand called a Coress that many people swear by. It is much lighter but it is $$$. I could never justify the expense because I use an extension wand maybe once a month.

Dorsky, you nailed it. It's all about the detergents doing the majority of the work. I never go above 1000 psi and often not above 500 psi.

One more question.
Is there a Cheap version or KNock off of the Xjet that is a little less expensive

There is but they don't draw as much chemical and you would be back to square one. Go to that job and do it however you can and you'll be better prepared for the next one.
