Hello my Name is Alex. a Co worker and myself are currently in the process of setting up a enclosed trailer to wash gravel trucks at night. We are using a 16ftx7ft trailer with 5200# axles. We are having a hydro tek skid installed in it. The stats on the unit is 5.0gpm at 3000psi. 18HP engine and a 3kw generator. We are trying to think of other business that we can do, but are starting to worry that we are going to be very limited as we can only carry 600 gallons of water.

For reference, how much on average water is it taking you guys to wash a truck and trailer?

I cannot find where to edit my post, so I will fix my grammar down here. On average, how much water are you guys using to wash a truck and trailer?

Welcome aboard Alex! I'll say the obvious..600gals @ 5gpm will get you at least 2 hours. :) Bear in mind that at a lot of jobsites you're going to have water access, so you can be filling and spraying.

One of the fleet guys want to chime in on what he's likely to use per trailer?

As for other businesses to wash... It's tough in the winter for us northern folks, but the sky's the limit. Winter work can include ice dam removal, drain jetting frozen lines, manufacturing and warehouse floors, mechanics' floors, indoor pool decks.
