I've got a powerwasher with the Honda GSX 390 engine. It's always run flawless, but has suddenly developed a weird problem. I thought it might be the carb so I replaced it, but I have the same issue.
Starts and runs fine, once under load it runs and pumps for about 30 seconds then backfires and the choke slams shut shutting off the engine. If I open the choke it fires right up and repeats the same thing - I once "wired" the choke open and could get it to kind of work.
Any ideas? Fresh gas and new carburetor.
