Hoses

Hey all.. Quick question for ya.. Right now I work with a mobile washer on a cart and use a 50' inlet hose and a 50' high pressure hose. How much could I add on without compromising my pressure in or out of the unit? It's not always convenient to change water sources or move the machine, so I'd like to add some length to the hoses. I would imagine it's better to add high pressure hose than it is to add inlet hose. Am I correct?

Hey Kevin,

On the high pressure line you lose one PSI for every foot. It's not really worth worrying about honestly. Now the supply line is different, you should be able to run 100' of hose but that depends on the supply. Just make sure you have a decent flow before you hook up your machine and run it. You don't want to run your pump unless it's getting enough water!

What Mike means is you may need a small float tank between the supply hose and your machine. It acts as a buffer to meet the draw requirements if the hose itself can't supply enough flow. This is to prevent the pump from cavitating.

The little red wagon would be a cart, wagon, or whatever you would use to tote the water tank around. A good size tank would be 20 gallons or so. You mentioned some cart your using now. Could it hold a tank?
