JR,

I prefer the dual lance / variable pressure wand approach to regulate pressure.

When a dual wand is not available or wanted a larger nozzle will drop your PSI.
ie: 5 GPM @ 3000 PSI machine running a #6 jump up to a #8 nozzle for 1500 PSI.

I used #7 and #8's.When I use #6 tips I also use distance to regulate pressure but after a week or so I find myself getting closer and closer to the wood. Then after that they stay the same for a good while before they start to really wear out.

Hi J R,

We use ballvalves on the hoses of both our units.

Our Wheatley pump has a bypass relief valve.
tps-wheatley.jpg
When we start up this pump it is unloaded. We simple turn the valve up to the pressure that we want. We then select the tip

to determine the volume. The Wheatley is plumbed so any excess water is returned to a surge tank that supplies the pump. We try to store the most frequently used tips on the inside back door. We have many more inside the truck.

I do too, Dan. I almost always use 40 degree tips...........I use a size 11 for decks, and 8 for houses. 6.5 or 7 for quick rinsing.

I'VE BEEN KNOW TO USE A 10 OR SO , BUT I DONT LIKE A BIG 40 DEGREE 25 ALL THE WAY AND NO 15 DEGREE , BUT WITH THE RIGHT CHENICAL AND THEN GO BACK WITH A 6 TO 8 IT WOULD WORK JUST FINE .

IT DEPENDS ON WHAT YOUR WASHING!

TIN HAYS , I WISH THEY SOLD PATIENCE IN A CAN, DONT YOU !
ALWAYS BALLS TO THE WALL , HAY DOSE PROZAC COME IN A CAN!

I adjust the unloader. Have an inline, QC psi gauge. Going to start using bigger nozzles though this season.

Dan, I think JD meant 40 feet. You wrote 40', instead of 40 degrees. I not sure, though. Can you write degrees with a ' ? Doesn't matter much, I knew what ya meant.

Dan, I like that smiley you posted. I just sat here and watched it wink at me for close to a full minute--mighta hypnotized me! Damn that was weird!

Frosty you do a degree like this ° ah so everyone is asking how did he do that..

Pay up and I will teach you, ok I trust you enough to put the CHECK in the mail:)

Here is how it is done:

1: Hold down the ALT key.

2: On the number pad hit 2,4 & 8 one after the other, not all at one time.

That's all folks.
