Here's how to do the Shiny Sink

1. Fill sink to the rim with very hot water; add one cup regular bleach. Soak for one hour.
2. Drain and rinse thoroughly.
3. Scrub with Ajax, Bon Ami, or baking soda.
4. Be sure to rinse thoroughly.
5. Shine with Windex or another glass-cleaning spray. Dry thoroughly.

This has been posted to most of the sites out there but no description for, explanation or reason for it.

Does this mean to clean the shiny sinks, polish them or what?

Has anyone tried this? Thanks.

The whole process just seems like overkill. Bark Keepers Friend and rinse. For the chemical nerds, BKF is basically oxalic suspended in talc.
