Hydrofluoric Acid Aluminum Brightener

In anticipation of spring and the potential for aluminum siding cleaning we are reviewing our chemicals and techniques, we have moved to a heavy industrial area literally in the fallout from Ford Rouge Steel (only 3 explosions recently) with a huge market for residential siding washes. We have in the past used an aluminum brightener containing Butyl, Hydrofluoric Acid, and Phosphoric Acid. We have a healthy respect for these chemicals and we are constantly concerned about the liability attached to the use of such products with the potential for exposure to one of us and/or a bystander (we have information from a trade publication indicating a paste made from crushed "Tums" is a great first aid application for exposed skin that will relieve pain).

Does anyone have any suggestions for effective chemicals for Aluminum brightening other than a product that contains Hydrofluoric Acid ?
