I must admit I'm a little skeerd of acids, never have used any yet. Is there anything else that will work and not ruin the vinyl coloring ? [hello][hello]

Dan,

I only use acid on isolated spots and have never experienced any damage.

We live in North Georgia with the great red clay! We clean lots and lots of vinyl siding homes with that nasty red clay spots baked on for years. Usually it occurs at the bottom of the home where the dirt has splashed up. What we usually do is wash the entire home like normal then go back over the spots with Simple Green or Gutter Zap and a cloth. Wash off immediately. Has not failed us yet!

I did a house about a month ago and it was the dirtiest, Ive ever seen. I tried everything on one side of the house and it wouldn't work to get the complete stain removed. It was the older type vinyl. It was on a main street through town and the hole house had been covered in dirt probably forever. I called the guy and told him Before I got too far that the stain would probably be permanant, but we were literally spraying the mud off the house. Told him we would do our best, but we can not work miracles. He said it was fine go ahead and finish. Just wanted to make sure before I wasted my time and his.

Although it was clean. The stains were are permanent. I thought the whole job was worthless until I came home and looked at the before and after pics.

These pics don't show how dirty the house really was but you can get the idea..

There is actually a pretty good stain still on the top, but not really
Noticable from the pics. I sure was glad I take before and after pics on everything once I seen them cause I wasn't happy with it all, until i seen them
