Ivy vines

Can anyone recommend a way to remove vines from brick and wood? I have a house to clean which has vine roots attached to painted brick and extends onto the wooden painted porch ceiling. There are no leaves. Can anyone help?
Thanks!

I did an old stone building that had vines on one side of it. My Turbomax took care of everything on the stone. There was a few pods that reached the wood facia, I was affraid to hit it with the turbo so I just used a knife on them. I have no idea what works on wood. I do know that them stupid little things stick well!

Jims is right they are mean little buggers.

hope this is not to late and hope it may help.If you look where those wittle feet are planted(take a closer look)some will be inbetween the paint and brick, betwwen the brick and point and when it gets to the wood it will be between the paint and wood.If you try to pull them off ya take paint off in spots, makes a job look bad.Inform the home owner it may happen, then try this,Cut and pull some of it off slow-e,go ahead and pw the rest off but do not deep clean the roots if they break off at paint level do not go no more.In a day or 2 ever you are the home owner can do some small touch up painting(need pointed brush).Tell this to the home owner or price it in your bid.If ya try to get that wittle root off paint ya going to take or may take alooot of paint off in spots, making ya job look bad...........Adios
