Hello All,

This forum does not seem that busy, so I thought I would I would ask...

What Tools Are Needed For Interior Post Contruction Cleanup?

What ladders are most universal?

What squeegie type is best? Telescoping wands? mops? etc. etc.

What would be a fair budget to do this professionaly in the eyes of the contractor?

What are 5 in one tools?

Where should I get this quality tooling and supplies, Home depot,Lowes?

What should I expect to pay for all this?

What chem works best on tile?

What chem/polish works best on wood?

What chem/polish/wax works best on linoleum?

What chem works best on glass?

What chem/stain remover works best on carpet?

What chem works best on drywall/paint?

What chem works best on formica?

What chem works best on ceramic?

And now the big part when would you use some of these chems?

If I missed an application I might run into please advise what chem works for it. Is there one all purpose cleaner you have found to do well on many areas such as "Simple Green"?

What is the approx average price per sqft? are windows extra and how much?
Also if you are only doing interior does your service include washing the outside of the windows?

I know it is alot to ask as I should learn the hard way but if anyone who I would not be competition with would not mind sending me any forms that I would need to get off the ground like contractor letters, pre cleaning damage form, invoices, contracts or service agreements or anything else benificial.

I guess I should have put my wish list in before Christmas but I am hoping it is still the season to be giving! Thank you all in advance for the informative replys. My mind is like a sponge ready to soak up as much knowledge as possible!!

While I would like to stay low budget initially, I want to be as professional and proficient as possible for mainly 1 person sometimes 2.

Thank you.

Hello All,

Find a busier board that fit your needs better. That might be hard since this is the largest pressure wash forum I know of! Good Luck  How ever if you mean construction clean up forum alone. Your right. But we will try are best to help.

What Tools Are Needed For Interior Post Contruction Cleanup?

Way to many to list. Try searching the database. If you don’t find what you’re looking for try searching the internet, since this is mainly a pressure wash forum

What ladders are most universal?

One of each, we like aluminum because they are not very heavy

What squeegie type is best? Telescoping wands? mops? etc. etc.

One of each, with some extra rubbers

What would be a fair budget to do this professionaly in the eyes of the contractor?

I don’t understand this question

What are 5 in one tools?

Never heard of that

Where should I get this quality tooling and supplies, Home depot,Lowes?

It depends on which tools you’re talking about

What should I expect to pay for all this?
Again that depend on how much and what type of equipment you decide to get at first

What chem works best on tile?

What are you trying to clean off the surface?

What chem/polish works best on wood?

Do you mean treating the wood or making it look shinny. Is it inside or outside?

What chem/polish/wax works best on linoleum?

What are you trying to clean off the surface?

What chem works best on glass?

What are you trying to clean off the surface?

What chem/stain remover works best on carpet?

This I don’t know, search the internet you will find what you need.

What chem works best on drywall/paint?

What are you trying to clean off the surface?

What chem works best on formica?

What are you trying to clean off the surface?

What chem works best on ceramic?

What are you trying to clean off the surface?

And now the big part when would you use some of these chems?

That depends on what you’re trying to accomplish

If I missed an application I might run into please advise what chem works for it. Is there one all purpose cleaner you have found to do well on many areas such as "Simple Green"?

There are better degreasers out there, but it works well. Make sure it does not get on a polished surface (example) Light fixture, kick plates and so on. If it does, and the concentration is to strong it will stain and or remove the finish.

What is the approx average price per sqft? Are windows extra and how much?
Also if you are only doing interior does your service include washing the outside of the windows?

From what I hear .12 to .18 cents that does not include windows

Keep it simple at first, go to OfficeMax or get some software and design your own stuff. It's not that hard these days. The software of there is very easy to learn and use. Most have templates pre-made.

I guess I should have put my wish list in before Christmas but I am hoping it is still the season to be giving! Thank you all in advance for the informative replys. My mind is like a sponge ready to soak up as much knowledge as possible!!

You really should ask separate questions in individual threads. You will get a much better response. The only thing you didn’t ask for was someone to do there work for you. People are always around to help. But also expect you to learn some things on your own. You’re basically asking for a manual from a to z for free and that will not happen.

Ask any questions you want and hope the right person who happens to know what you need feels like posting that day. There are also 45,000 posts on the bulletin board to search through. You have to put a little work in or you will turn people off.

Most of the people here started before the golden free internet information days. Some of the smallest things, meaning tips and tricks took someone year to figure out and now everything is pretty much taken for granted from the newer people. If you learn one thing from here or anywhere else other than on your own you’re that much better off.

While I would like to stay low budget initially, I want to be as professional and proficient as possible for mainly 1 person sometimes 2.

Take your time pick one or two things you what to start cleaning at first. When you get better and more established. Move on to more and better equipment. Then start researching other things you want to clean and add them to you business as you go.

Don’t forget to get insured

Thank you.

Dan,

Without being rude. You sure took alot of time to basically avoid most questions. Sure there are varibles that change per job and I fully understand that. I just wanted basics. There are basics that apply to everything. You say I am asking for everything but someone to do the work for me! My friend, the foundation by which this and all message boards work is to ask questions. These questions are primarily directed to people with the expeience. If asking is out of line then why have the board? I am new and looking for some answers thats all. If you dont have the answers or don't want to help another human being that is fine and I can respect that. JUST SAY SO. You should not make someone feel as if they were out of line for wanting to learn from industry leaders! If I had something benifical to contribute I would but for now as a new guy all I have our questions. For what you did provide I thank you.

Brian

PS. Searching the board in the Construction Cleanup Area does not produce great results thereby forcing me to ask questions. I guess the lack of info means that not many people do this or contribute to this board

Geeeeezzzz Brian,

I thought I did pretty well. Other than the chemical questions. (I needed more details) I thought I answered every question with a solid answer or at least a suggestion, and yes I did take some time to answer the question. I never said not post. Not sure were you got that from.

I just said asking questions individually maybe a better way of getting more detailed answers and more people responding to your question. Im sorry if I came off as rude! How about I ask you a question? Do you know or do you know where I can get information regarding heart surgery? I know it's a lot to ask and I do appreciate your specific answers in advance, categorized in it's own forum if you don't mind, and in a section only the pro's with posts. I hope in a specific straight answer kinda way. So I can make it in this industry in just a few simple weeks (only if im not competition for them of course)

Hey sorry to be harsh, but you ask for the world in one post and I tried my best. Then you sling it in my face. Gee maybe im just having a bad day.

Here is another honest suggestion to help you become professional. First of all I am no English expert and don't expect and really could care less if someone else is or not. If you decide to make your own marketing material you may want to use spell checker or have someone review your stuff. Looking at your original post. You have several spelling errors.

Again this is just a bulletin board and nobody cares if the next guy can spell or not. I sure can't spell the best in this world. So just in case you didn't notice. Keep that in mind. Because you certainly would not want those type of error going out on your marketing stuff.

God Bless and I truly wish you the best and hope you stick around and get more involved in the industry and also The PWN. To your success :)

Happy Holidays to you and your family :)

Dan,

Once again, I thank you for your efforts. Only you and the other professionals as well know if you answered as effectively as possible. Unfortunatly I feel that it was lacking and I don't know why becuase I am new but it is just a gut instinct. The answers were vague, I was hoping for more specific and in depth responses. Did you really help me? Be honest! I guess I was asking to much. I felt the under tone of your reply is what stuck out the most. Which was pretty much, "learn as you go my boy and not before. Just like I had to do." As an administrator I would think you would be used to newbies asking questions. I will also tell you that your analogy about heart surgery was inappropriate. I was in a forum asking specific questions related to that forum. My answer to you is goto a medical board for your answers about heart surgery. I dont want to debate with you as this is no longer about the original questions but rather tit for tat. All I wanted was some knowledge. I would use spell check but don't know how, so feel free to do it for me. After all you are an administrator.

Construction Clean-up

Hey Brain

Can only help you with the window cleaning end of constuction if you can get in after they install the glass and you can apply Strippable Coating what
this does is it puts a transparent coating on the glass put on both in and out
this way paint or drivit can't stick to the glass. then after you are done cleaning do the glass last pull off Strippable Coating and maybe spot-clean the window of fingerprints and small stuff this will help you save time. hope this helps you
