List Grabber

In the past I bought list from some people and the last time was from Info USA. That list ran around $750. We sent out the first time over 3000 brochures and letters and some postcards to Prop. man. companies that we paid for on that list. We got one response... Thats right just 1.

So that was the last time we did that. What we do now is we go to sites which Kathy knows and she builds our own list. Yes its time consuming but its the most current list you can have. She then Cold Calls every one of them and asking for where to sent info to etc.
Since she is making her own list you'd be surprise how fast some of these companies have gone out of business or are no longer at the address posted.

Kathy tries to call at least 10 of these companies a day to get there most current info and then we sentdout some literature. She also takes there names and of course she introduces herself and our business.

The days of us buying list for now are over. The list you may buy could be yrs old at we found out thru the ones we bought. Where a small company so this works best for us.

Larger companies maybe its worth it to them to buy list but to me I was just burning another hole in my wallet when all there info is on......the net free of charge.

I agree with John. the best way is to develop you own mailing lists. Targeting those that are around my current customers is what I do. It does take a little more time, but saves you a ton of money in the long run. Plus it allows you to create familiarity in your customers mind. If your the one servicing your potential customers neighbor, (Whether a business or a Residential) then they are much more likely to go with you cause you have created familiarity with them.

Los, we are buying the software this week. Our plan is to target certain areas and hit them hard. This "grabber" soft ware is easy. the setup we have can place 100's of addresses on excel in minutes. We will see how it goes this next month. I promiss to keep the BBS posted on the outcome.

This above is what we do for Commercial work. Residential because where a small company where pretty good there with our customer list for the last 15 yrs and the usual way we advertise. We always over advertised for Residential work but the hardest nut to crack for us is the continous commercial work that doesn't send us so far away if possible.
