Hi, another newb to the business. However been pressure washing for years! I have noticed the tanks on the back of P/U Trucks some are custom made others look like some kinda Used Industrial Chemical Containers. I priced the custom tanks and they are HIGH$$$$. Does anyone know of where to get the used tanks and what they are called?

Pickup tanks are selected as applicator tanks or when transportable containment is required. Designed to fit most full size pickup trucks. Manufactured from medium-density polyethylene with U.V. inhibitors and designed for containment of liquids of up to 1.7 specific gravity. Tank walls are translucent for level viewing and equipped with gallon indicators. Tanks have an 8" lid and a 2" fitting. 200 gallon tank is $217.62, 350 gallon tank is $330.62, 450 gallon tank is $374.93 I hope that does not break the bank. There are always tote tanks in 275 gallons or 330 gallons.

Here is the pricing I get:

Pickup bed tanks (fits in bed and has lip for bed rails)
210 Gal - $196.00
325 Gal - $239.00
450 Gal - $308.00

Trailer mounted tanks (has baffles)
225 Gal - $226.00
325 Gal - $183.00

You might find them pretty cheap at your local tractor supply store or CO-OP.

My distributer/mech says he will custom cut a new 55 gallon chem tank with a float and hook it up for a 100 dollars. Is this a fair price or a rip off? Is it easy to do myself?
Thanks

It is easy to do providing you know what to do.

A new 55 gallon drum & float valve, plumbing and labor
for a $100 sounds fair to me.

Can't expect him to work for peanuts!
