Hi MEL, You switched from box trucks to bobtails. No matter.
I am never going to TX. to wash trucks so how about letting me in on that butt kicking soap?
rottie72@aol.com 6ft 3 235lbs man i wish i was that weight 6ft 3 295lbs
ive got long hair and a beard so i allways get a kick when a little guy stares at me and i shout"snap into a slim jim". ha ha ha it gets old when people stare at you all the time.
Dose your son miss the tops of the rims a lot? Bottom of the fuel tanks? I tend to clean what i see better.

Something doesn't jive with this post.

For one why would anyone in this or any other field want to drive the prices down as a goal for there company?? It sounds like the carwashguys or whatever that company was theory. And look what happen to most of those guys.

Also getting a store to shell out $500/hr for a one man operation aint happening. If this is maybe a 5-10 man operation then I can see the owner of this business getting $500/hr but that is not the impression that I'm getting reading Max Robs post.

Hopefully he is not pulling the wool over the eyes of his significant other with false remarks of the $500/hr that he is claiming that he is earning.

In closing I don't agree with there lowball theory in doing business and there hourly rate that they claim that there earning and that other companies are getting aprox $1700/hr that is causing them to lowball. None of this makes sense.

To Max Robb and Tonya,
I don't understand your post but don't take it personaly. Good Luck in your business and hopefully you will make it but by lowballing the odds are against you because of all the obvious...unless of course you are really making $500/hr

And don't get on Big Boys bad side because the way he can use the English language he can make your head spin to the point where it can hurt.. which in turn will hurt our heads to trying to read his posts;)

Ok, sorry I haven't been on. I am not charging $500 an hour, I am chrging $500 for the job. I am sorry if I got people worked up, as that was not my intention. As for my investment money, approx. half went to the washer equipment, and half to the truck to pull it. As for my buisiness logic, I found that the pressure washing companies contracts are for the most part yearly contracts meaning that they clean it once a year. My goal for this business is to make more money than them and contracts range from yearly, bi-annually, monthly, and bi-weekly. For example. I clean 10 Burger Kings in the city. The contract I have with them is for 1 year. The way it breaks down is I clean the parking lot once a year, the front entrance and sidewalks bi-monthly, the drive thru twice a year, the grease tank and garbage area twice a month. I bill them after each part of the contract is done for the part I just finished. I find that by letting them decide on what and when they want something done, I give them the feeling of controlling how much they are spending. In short I am making $19,000 for all service provided in one year for 10 stores. The competition made 10,000 for one year. So by charging less and doing aspects of it more frequent I am making more. As for my equipment, I have a 3 in 1 unit made by Jenny Equipment. I have the ability to do cold/hot/steam. So far it is working really well. Hopefully this clears up some of the confussion.

Max the above quote needs a bit more breaking down please.

First nothing wrong with billing after each job, most of us do that now I am sure.

Let me see if I get this straight, you clean the following:

Parking lot once a year, is it concrete or blacktop?

Front entrance and sidwalks 2 times a month.

drive thought 2 times a year.

dumpster (garbage area) 2 times a month.

So what your saying is you clean most of the account every two weeks.

Now would you like to break your price down to show each section?

I have other questions but let's take it one step at a time so we can all get it correct with you.

Jon
