Opinion on surface cleaner...

Looking for some feedback on this surface cleaner. Anyone use or own one, and what is the performance. We don't do a ton of flatwork, but enough to warrant a new machine. Any input is appreciated.

We just purchased a whisper wash Ground Force. We have whirl-a-way the difference between them is like driving a Yugo and Mercedes.
I believe the Allison is produced by the same company as Whirl-a-way B.E. Supply

I've got the Allison Iron Horse Laser Deck Floater- 20" # LDP20-2
(copied that right out of the link you posted). It works pretty good. If you use hot water you'll have to have a thermostat put on your machine. It won't go above 140 degrees, but I'm glad I've got it. I do hear Steel Eagles are amazing however.

I've always used Steel Eagle in the past and was happy with the performance. Will look into the whisper wash unit. I know I'll pay about double for the Steel Eagle over the whirl-a-way, but have never hesitated to spend the money on better equipment. Again, we don't do a ton of flatwork, but enough now to warrant buying instead of renting one. It also gives me the opportunity to do an onsite upsell on residential.

Yes, it's a BE Supply product. The 140 degree water thing causes some concern. Just to play devil's advocate, would this machine hold up a couple of years doing a quarter million sq. ft. of flatwork per year? Thanks for your input.

Ask Mark what the deal of the day is.

Maybe, maybe not, but the steel eagle will and it will take the heat too. Plastic shelled surfacers are built cheap to cut corners. Why support the low ballers of the equipment companys.

I haven't had mine long enough to know how well it will hold up, but I can say that it at least works pretty well at that temp. I can't really complain.

Done deal. Ordered a Steel Eagle today, and not worried a bit about it standing up to the work. Pretty good deal on it too!

Thanks again for all your input. You helped save me from a big $$$ mistake.

Will that do a good job using only cold water...or is heat the key to cleaning concrete faster?

Hot water cleans better, however
using a surface cleaner with either
hot or clod water gives you a more
uniform cleaning, plus speeds up
the cleaning process! :)

Thanks for the quick response Mark. I should be ordering tomorrow.

Hey Chitty. Lets let one another know if there's any duty. The Canada Customs # is 1 800 461 9999. Glad I have hands free calling. Twenty min on the automated crap answered nothing. My supplier wanted $2049 for a 24" Steel Eagle. I just don't want to see some huge government fee. We supposedly have free trade with the USA. Time will tell.

Thanks Mark.
Not that bad depending on the duty thing.
Canada and their taxes and duty have a real way to make it expensive to do business.I have several old chevies I am restoring and whenever I order parts between the dollar exchange, shipping and duty I usually get hosed in the long run.
probably won't order right away as waiting on an answer on a few bids to justify the purchase.
Let me know how you make out REVIVE and I'll do the same in this post.
Happy Washing!
